After the stitches were out and the scars were healing, you shave just like normal. Yes there is scar there but you shave over or around it.

People will act anyway we allow them to act. My husband works at a job he hates, but he knows that he can't leave until he finds another job, something he has been trying to do for two years now. I also had to put my foot down as I know he would have quit 2 years ago if I didn't issue the ultimatum. Sometimes men need to be reminded that Grown ups have responsibilities and need to put their family before their own needs!

Hello everyone! It's so nice to see that there are other people out there like me. I'm 28 years old, I've been a type 1 Diabetic for the past 18 years. I've been on an insulin pump for the past 10 years. I had my sleeve done a week ago. It's been a lot of work with controlling my blood sugars, but it's all worth it. I'm really looking forward to losing the weight and feeling young and healthy again!

Sleeved on Jan 22nd, lost 33lbs post op, 73 lbs total. Only hungry if I'm bored. Starting to finally feel alive again, see surgeon next week and will get cleared to return to Curves. Too cold to walk so need curves to get moving again. Keep taking in my cloths and buying new. Went from size 20 to a 12-14. Still have around 50 lbs to go.

Well I made it to 7 weeks post op, the surgery was ok but got an infection and that made my recovery slow. Now I feel pretty good, lost 33 lbs post op, 73 lbs total. Learning what works for me and what doesn't has been a challenge but I'm getting better at this. I will be so glad when spring gets here too, need to move
Unfortunately, sugars have not gotten better. This was so disappointing, see my endo Monday to get a plan of action. Was hoping to not have to get a pancreas bypass, still praying it all works out. No more surgeries would be nice.
    May God bless you all!

YOU CAN DO THIS!!! All of us newbies are struggling in our own way. Depend on God's strength to get you through. It will get better. Give it a couple more weeks, I know the time is going by slow right now but that will change too.

    Hi Amy,
Sorry you are going thru but this too shall pass.... I know it may be a bit overwhelming and scary not being able to be in control but it will get better. The first month for me was shaky, scary, and no energy no matter how much i slept. I honestly started to feel normal maybe by week 7. If possible maybe someone can help with the children until you feel stronger. My prayers are with you and may you find peace, serenity, and joy in the morning! Be blessed

Ok - updating for everyone's info. I went to the doctor Wednesday, really sick. Ran a fever all night Tuesday night and just felt miserable. Constant nausea, weakness, etc. He did an upper GI series and drew blood. Said I was severely dehydrated but the upper GI didn't show any leaks and showed the sleeve was passable. I still had the nausea and left upper quadrant pain and some epigastric pain. He put me in the hospital. Ran like 4L of Fluid in quickly, gave me some mild pain meds, nausea meds and some Decadron for inflammation. CT showed I have a 9 cm hematoma lingering around the sleeve on the outside, pressing against it. He said it was probably from some post-op debris or maybe some early bleeding around the suture line. The fluids and meds really helped me. He put me BACK on Clear liquids for 2 weeks and sent me home on antibiotics and pain / nausea meds as needed.
So at least I know there was some kind of issue. He thinks the hematoma will absorb and go away eventually. I still have a little pain but it's better than it was. Just drinking my shakes now and Water / broth / etc.
    Thanks for everyone's replies.
