The Good, the Bad, but Mostly, the UGLY
MrsGina replied to Newnay's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The Good: down 73 lbs, no surgery issues, no gas pains......then I went home The bad: infection set in, luckily my drain was still in place. Leak test and barium for MRIs awful. The ugly: the puss coming through the drain was soooo gross. The Happy: that is all behind me and feeling good about my weight loss. Will not start posting pics till my son has seen me. He hasn't seen me since I started this journey. So I've lost 73 lbs since he's seen me, wonder if he'll know it's me? -
Is there a website that tells where the food goes and the process on how we digest food after sleeve?

MrsGina replied to superchica879's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

I just wish there was a website to explain the mechanics of it all.

5 weeks post op left side pain
MrsGina replied to Emilee68's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same pain, I kept a heating pad on my back. It went away by itself. At least that's what happened for me. -
Well I was wondering why the Nut puts us on the same restrictions and vitamins as the bypass ppl. When we don't have malabsorption or their issues.

Throwing Up Chewble Vitamins!
MrsGina replied to Blugirl's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I just spent over a hundred bucks on Bariatric Advantage calcium, and celebrate multivitamin. I can't stand either of them. I always take multivitamins with milk but I can't handle celebrate cherry. Yak. Back to the drawing board, wish I would have read this thread first! -
Have had the flu for 3 days now, lost so much Fluid and can't drink enough to keep up, and I'm still running to the bathroom. Tried Imodium and it works for awhile but then it starts up again. I'm so miserable! Any advice? If not can you pray for me? I hate going to the hospital to get hydrated.

Thank you so much, just got a lil bit of yogurt down.

January sleevers......what's your weight loss so far?
MrsGina replied to pottergirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Jan 22, 40 lbs pre op, 30 lbs post op. total lost 70 lbs and still going. Stalls and all! -
Depending on what I eat sometimes I have to wait an hour for it to digest before drinking. Eating and drinking can cause you to be hungry too soon.

Finally 8 weeks out, feeling pretty good. Went to endo this morning and am now on a U100 insulin in my pump. This is so exciting to see progress. Down 70 lbs and kinda on a stall but that's ok, as long as I see progress. Went from size 20 down to 14. Working for size 8.

Lol, no that is my total weight loss. 40 pre and 30 post. I'm on a stall right now, but thats ok. I can enjoy my new cloths for a little while.

Went to see Dr. Selzer today and he isn't happy about my progress. He asked me how I was feeling and I told him, like someone sawed my stomach in half. He wants to start me on an IV fluid program every couple days, I begged him to wait but he gave me till Friday. I just hate pic lines and dragging a poll around. Good news, he removed my drain. Darrell had to hold my hand, I was pretty scared, I hate those. So I was pretty sick all day and haven't eaten anything but jello. I was praying about it and I felt God telling me to eat yogurt, soo I just came downstairs and started on a blueberry yogurt. Wow, I feel so much better. Thank you Jesus! I need to start making a list of what I can eat that doesn't make me sick, apparently jello makes me sick also, oatmeal. That yogurt was amazing! All for now!

I love to add canned peaches to it.

Now for the doom and gloom, sorry. I did have complications and am now at 7 weeks. It was a rough recovery and I still have problems with food. Remember, you can only eat 1/4 cup of food while everyone else is in food heaven. That being said, you make your own decision. I have a cruise coming up and am enjoying looking for smaller size cloths. I have a lot of excess skin and won't be a model but I enjoy the new energy I have now. Good luck, I know this will be a hard decision.

How about, I soak in Dawn dish soap to cut through stubborn fat. -
Coming from someone who has been married for almost 35 years. There are a lot of things to consider before making such a big decision. Is he a good husband, a good father, does he help you? Why is he so unhappy with his job, does he go even if he hates it. Will extra schooling help him improve his situation. I don't know him so I can't judge if he's good or bad. You love him so he must have some good qualities. 35 years has not been all roses but loyalty and sacrifice are all about commitment. And remember he loved you fat, how many men would do that? God bless you both!

I'm not an expert, but I think too much protein can cause gout, I would ask your Nut to be safe. Don't take our word for it. Best of luck!
