Hello All, Have My Consult On The 12Th
rmbtcb4evr replied to bbkipps99's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As you will read on this site, there are a lot of reversion from the band to the sleeve. I researched for over a year. Today is one month and I am down 28 pounds. I am off medication already and life is much easier weighing almost 30 pounds less:) Good luck to you! -
I eat a half of a whole wheat English Muffin with peanut butter. It has fiber which is a bonus and 11 g of protein. It was on my list of things to try. It takes me 30 minutes to eat it. LOL Do whatcha gotta do:)

There are about 3 in the Waterford area that I know of. I also know if you are looking for fancier clothes there's a really nice one in Birmingham. I also heard that there is one in West Bloomfield that's pretty good. If you need more info let me know:) -
My Fellow 9/4 (Or Last Week) Sleevers - How Are You Doing ?
rmbtcb4evr replied to Odee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeved 9/4.... I only lost 8 pounds prior to surgery because I found out I was having surgery 8 days before. As of today, I am down 20 lbs since the day of my surgery. I am starting to eat solid foods. I really like fish. It's the easiest way for me to eat enough to get protein. I was getting the "slimers" but really have worked on eating slower and chewing more. I am still not quite to 60g of protein or 60 oz of liquids but I work on it every day. I think this was harder than I expected but it seems to get easier. If I could just stay off the scale every day that would be good. It's exciting to see the scale go down every single day. Like hearing how everyone is doing. Keep up the good work! -
Totally Bummed But Not Discouraged
rmbtcb4evr replied to djbryan51's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Nothing is worth having if it's easy. You might not have an easy path but it will make the reward that much sweeter. Good Luck:) -
I had surgery earlier this month. I also had type 2 Diabetes. I was taken off my medicines already. It makes me so happy because I was concerned about my pancreas. The medicine I was taking was very hard on my body. I did not have as easy time with my surgery as some of the others on this site. In fact I go back to work tomorrow after a month off. Overall I am so happy that I had the surgery. Knowing the difference between the RNY and the sleeve ahead of time should put you at peace with your decision. Good Luck to you:)

Sleeved And Cannot Tolerate Calcium Chews/ Multi Gummies.
rmbtcb4evr replied to SLEEVEDNBEAUTIFUL's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What kind of vitamins and chews are you taking? I had to switch both in order to not get sick. I am bummed because I wasted money but if I couldn't take them then they were no good for me. There's a vitamin that you can add to water which didn't work for me but it might work for you. -

rmbtcb4evr replied to ma46's topic in Liquids (stage 1)
I just tried and really enjoy a protein shake called ProJoe. I found it on the Bariatric Advantage website. 20 g of protein. I have only tried the Chai but it's got a coffee vibe that gets me thru the day! -
P.a. & Surgeon Against Me Getting The Sleeve
rmbtcb4evr replied to TamaraS's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had went to my PA for 17 years and thought of her as a friend. She was against any sort of WLS. She lost 88 pounds on Weight Watchers and thought that anyone else could lose weight on Weight Watchers. I started my 6 months of office visits with her where every time she chided me about my decision. It ended in tears most times. I called my insurance and inquired about changing doctors. Once they gave me the okay I asked for advice from my friends and changed doctors. I felt like I was breaking up with a boyfriend when I left my PA. I have a new doctor who has encouraged me these last three months and I had my surgery earlier this month. Since my previous PA told me that these surgeries never work for anyone, I look forward to showing her that they do. To be honest, it has given me drive. I want to be an advocate for someone changing their life. I really wish some drs wouldn't be so close minded. I firmly believe that my surgery saved my life, at least adding some years to my life. Good Luck to you! You know what's best for you. -
Hello Fellow Sleevers!! I have been reading for a while but never really thought I had anything to say. I had my sleeve surgery on September 4. I had an allergic reaction to pain killers and was sick for a while. I proceeded to be sore from vomiting and very weak for my first two weeks. I followed my diet and drs instructions like a good little girl. On day 14 I started pureed foods and started having problem vomiting. It's been pretty steady and bad. Still felt weak. Frustrated. Fighting a depression. Wondering why? A few days ago I believe I turned a corner. My spirit is coming back. I have returned to work after 20 days. I am finally eating on a regular schedule. And being on a schedule has made it easier to drink more liquids. I am excited to get more gym time. I finally feel like myself. My husband said my confidence is coming back. That made me very happy. Just wanted to let you know that if you get feeling down because of lack of energy, nausea, or depression....just keep going and you can turn a corner too:)

I did Flexible Spending Plan through my work. Spread it out over a year. So it wasn't that much of a inconvenience for my family. You might want to inquire if you have it at work. Plus it saves on taxes:)

Exhausted! Not Sure A Week Is Enough Out Of Work
rmbtcb4evr replied to LittleRed30's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know what you do for a living but I was sleeved on the 4th and I am taking another week off. I have a very labor intensive job and I know that I am too tired to go back. I think everyone is different. If it takes you longer than your body is telling you that you need time. If you have the time, I say take it! Good Luck to you! Looking forward to pureed food on Tuesday! -
How And When To Tell Someone Your Having Surgery..
rmbtcb4evr replied to Queen In Me's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a hard time telling people that I was considering surgery. I thought there is no shame to my game so why should I hide it? However, people shared their opinions and stories and a lot of them were not very positive. I wish I wouldn't have shared it with everyone. If I could do it all over again, I would tell my family because they love me no matter what. I would only tell my closest friends because I know that even if they don't approve, they will support me. Other than that I would've kept it to myself until after surgery. I am proud of you that you made a decision that will change your life forever. Do not let anyone get in your way! It sounds like you took a lot of time to consider your decision. Good Luck to you! -
Size 14-16 For Sale. I Need 10-12.
rmbtcb4evr replied to tautry's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I would try resale shops. They are great for finding work clothes. Plus you don't feel bad about spending too much money. Congratulations! I can't wait to grow out of my clothes. -
Hi Andrew, I had surgery September 4th and I also mourn food. It's sad really something that has been part of your life for so long and it's just so different now. I used food socially, to meet with friends, to talk to my family. Now I have had a major adjustment. I call my friend to go for a walk. My family and I went to the movies today. I miss food. I start the pureed portion on Tuesday and I am looking forward to it. Good Luck in your journey. I just think of how much healthier and happier I am without the weight. It has helped me because I am truly not hungry anymore:)

I am with you!! Start pureed on Tuesday:) I am blessed to have a wonderful husband that cooks me the best things! In the last week I have had homeade soup pureed. The doctor gave me the okay on that only because I was having problems with liquids. Things are better now! We are on our way!! Watch out world!! -
