So hoping the thrill is gone for fries! I am a self-proclaimed potatoe ***** (just a term, not real) and I will eat them anything they're cooked. I think not eating potatos, pasta and rice would save me!!!

Subdermal Incision Site Knots
Scaredy Cat replied to delta_girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm hoping that after having had two c-sections, this procedure won't seem as bad to me. C-sections cannot be done laproscopically and they cut deep into your lower abdominal muscle. -
The last time I was on a diet, i lost 14 pounds. The sad part is that even though that's what the scale said, not only didn't anyone notice bit I didn't even notice. I lost ally motivation and the weight returned in a mere 2 weeks. It's unfortunate but honestly, if I don't see it working for me, I lose hope fairly easily. I pray that with the sleeve, I can't quit on myself.

I'm the complete opposite - from as long as I can remember, I've ALWAYS had a drink of something either I my hand or near me. I just keep refilling all day. My issue is going to be to STOP drinking the 1/2 before and after eating!

My Husband Thinks I'm Copping Out
Scaredy Cat replied to Scaredy Cat's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think I will have him go to the next support group meeting with me even if I have to drag him there! LOL Yeah, he's 5'8" and 160 lbs. he walks ALOT. He gets upset that I don't go with him. I try to explain that at 260, it's too much of a struggle and my back hurts and I can't walk as fast as him. At only 5'0",I'm taking 5 steps for every one of his! My dream is to get thin and healthy enough where he has a hard time keeping up with me! Thanks so much for the encouragement. I do hope he comes around. -
Does Obesity Help have an iPhone app like Vertical Sleeve Talk does? I can't find it if it exists. Have to say though, this (you all) are a huge support and I thank you for being here!!

Pre -Op And Wavering Between Excited And Terrified
Scaredy Cat replied to carrieann70's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love this post and I feel like I'm in the same boat. I'm going through all the motions of getting approved. Some days I feel like I wish it was tomorrow because I'm that ready. Other days I'm thankful I still have some tests because I'm unsure. I keep thinking that if I don't do something, I could literally die tomorrow from a heart attack, stroke or even sleep apnea (not including the runaway bus in my path LOL). Thanks for validating my fears and letting me know Minot alone -

I think I used tone thin but always felt chubby. I don't remember ever feeling thin. As I got older, the weight crept up. After my children were born (both c-sections), it went up even faster. For the past 10 years, I am no longer in control of my appetite or my weight. I've tried to lose but honestly, I tend to give up if I don't lose enough or quickly enough. I totally lose my motivation and I get off the diet. Then, anything I did lose comes back plus. Am I right for this surgery?

I have a 10 year old. I hadn't thought about hugs. Thanks for sharing. -
Popcorn is high in fiber. It's also a whole grain. It's also DELICIOUS!

My husband said he'll be supportive when it's time for surgery, but he is also saying "I'd rather have you fat than not at all" (meaning death). Ugh! So marose!
