How Many Days After Surgery Were You Able To Get Out Of The House?
Scaredy Cat replied to fgotr121's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For all those driving home right after surgery, have your driver bring a pillow and put it in the car for you. When driving, hold that pillow against your stomach - the bumps on the road won't hurt nearly as bad. This is something I learned after having 2 c-sections. Hope it helps you too -
Have a wonderful sleeve day!!

Bipass Or Sleeve - Now I’M Confused
Scaredy Cat replied to shastadaisy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's true the sleeve has not been around as long as the bypass surgery, but I had read that it's essentially the same surgery that they've been using for decades for stomach cancer and ulcers. Anyone else read this? -
You look great!

I've decided to set up a reward schedule for myself. Every 25 lbs lost I will allow myself to buy a non food gift to myself. What would your list look like? 50

Ill be very direct (as usual). Emily, if you didn't want us to talk you out of quitting, you would have just left without posting. Think about it. I backed out 5 years ago (and 35 pounds ago) thinking like you. And here I am pre-op, jumping thru the hoops again. Good luck in whatever decision you make - we wish you nothing but the best

Fmla (Medical Leave)

My doctor suggests 4 to 6 weeks. I want the entire 6 weeks. We have temporary disability insurance that we pay for out of every paycheck. I can use that for the entire 6 weeks. Yah, having it taken out sucks but getting some of it back when you need it is awesome -
Good wishes to you!

Oh, that's a good one! A mani/pedi!!!!

My Husband Thinks I'm Copping Out
Scaredy Cat posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'll admit, I don't really like exercise (yet). I've dieted on and off since I was a teenager and just like the rest of you, it always came back. How do I help him realize that I'm not copping out!! -
Burning Pain Under My Shoulder Blade.
Scaredy Cat replied to LovingmeForever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Is there a reason why the surgeon doesn't take them out as part of the procedure if its very possible to cause problems/pain? -

One Of My Weight Loss Goals!
Scaredy Cat replied to JaspersGirl's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
My husband told me that he doesn't want me buying any more clothes until after surgery. This is a good thing - means he's getting used to the idea. -
Iffy chick - I will be halfway at 75 pounds hence the need for mini goals - I think it's gonna be a long journey

Nsv - Someone Finally Noticed!
Scaredy Cat replied to enigmachik's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Do you think there are people out there who will see your weight loss and not say anything due to jealousy. For some reason, they don't want to validate your decision? I've lost weight and no one said anything - it was disheartening. The worse thing is that even though the scale said one thing, my clothes didn't feel it either. -
Friends- Can We Really Keep Them?
Scaredy Cat replied to O.T.R. sleever's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
My best friend of 20 Years has remained my friend through most of my weight gain. She is a nurse and although she doesn't lecture me, we have talked about my health as it relates to my weight. When I told her of my decision she was very supportive. She is thinner than me and said that she can't wait until I'm able to do more stuff with her like we used to. When she said this, wow it hit me how much "life" I've been missing. I know she'll be my friend after the surgery and will probably be my biggest supporter as I go through this life-changing transition. I can't say that about anyone else in my life - I'm so blessed to have her!!! -

Avwerage Weight Loss - What Are The Numbers?
Scaredy Cat replied to sleevediva's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm still scared but will go thru it anyways -- for my health. I'm trying to go thru the necessary appointments and not think about it too much - guess I'm scared of failing this. I've never been into exercise physically ( but in my head - I'm a runner LOL). I think I've just gotten used to being lazy and sedentary. Guess I'm not feeling too strong minded today.
