  1. A good example of slider vs non-slider.

I've gone to Dunkin Donuts for their Wake-Up Wrap. It takes me about 15 minutes to eat it and I am ready to eat in 30 minutes. I make my own version using a whole grain low carb tortilla and other quality ingredients and it takes 45+ minutes to eat it and I'm extremely full/satisfied.

The main difference is the quality of the tortilla. DD is a white flour tortilla. I use a high fiber/low carb whole grain tortilla. Choose quality as often as you can and you will be more satisfied and stay that way longer.

Also, if you choose to stop drinking you may notice your sugar/carb craving increase. It will be tough but you can get through this.

  2. Wow, OP. It sounds like you're battling some serious demons. food addiction. Possible replacement addiction.

It also sounds like you are your own worst enemy right now. I can relate. Angry. Bitter. Insecure. Confused.

Maybe you can find a local OA support group or a place that focuses on eating disorders or addiction? You have to choose to take the first step, tho.

I hope you know we are standing right beside you.

  3. Well see I'm a b***h everyday! (Thought I'd beat lipstick lady to it <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />) so fasting no fasting? Meh... <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

Since it is Halloween perhaps "witch" would be more apropos for today. Tomorrow feel free to resume status quo. ;-)

  4. You will find many passionate opinions that vary greatly on this subject. They will run the gamet from "shout it from the rooftops" to "My body. My business." to witty retorts and outright deceit.

All feel they are right or justified in their way of handling this life changing event and may even attack when challenged. I am of the mindset of silence or honesty, no lies.

Basing it solely on your post stating you feel shame and embarrassed. That you don't want to be judged or abandoned I would suggest you search your heart and soul. I believe honesty is empowering. I do not like the idea of hiding because you fear other's responses. You are giving them power over you. They do not deserve it.

I've been very open about my choice. I've experienced some negativity. It stung. But I worked at remembering that they are the one with the problem. Not me. It is my body. My health. My choice. And I am not ashamed.

My name is Amanda Rae. I am a food addict. I had WLS, and I am not ashamed.

  5. I was in no way bragging. I am all in all a little confusconfused by some of what you guys are saying. I was just putting out there what my dr thinks and the approach I am taking. No bad was to come of it. I just know that one person has a different view than the norm you get the book thrown at you and people get mad. I am all for everyone doing what they want. I don't need or want anyone's permission to lead my life the way I want. I will refrain from posting. Guess I will just read...

C'mon. You titled your thread, "This may start a riot"...

That just screams provocation. I'm not throwing the book or getting mad... Just keeping it real.

You were poking the lion(s) with a stick and now you're shocked some of the lion(s) swiped at you? I think that is kind of silly.

  6. I am looking for some good detox recipes out there. Soups. smoothies. I'd like to stay as organic as possible withe recipes.

I am still losing steadily, however, incorporating certain goods back into my like has awakened the sleeping dragon and I'd like to focus on lulling her back to sleep.< /p>

I think several days of dedicated detoxing in a healthy nutrient rich way would be best.

In addition to kickstarting a detox regimine, I would like to cut back, and ultimately eliminate, caffeine. I've stocked up on my decaff green tea.

  7. Well I'm glad you two are made up. But I'm still in a lousy ass mood. Oh by the way no one really asks me' date=' it might be an approachability issue... <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />[/quote']

I was taking the "approach with caution" mentality.

What kind if cupcakes did you eat?

  8. Okay. So I wanted to take another look at this and make sure my PMS wasn't getting the best of me. Evidently it is. Amanda Rae' date=' I don't really think we are disagreeing or arguing about anything. I agree with almost everything you said. As Laura ven said, there have been a number of these threads running the last few days and the shame issue keeps coming up. That is all I was responding to and not your post in particular. As I look at this thread again, based upon what the OP said, the people in her workplace seem deserving of whatever sarcasm or icy glare she chooses to give them. They sound like a bunch of aholes.[/quote']

I can relate to PMS goggles while reading comments. Doubly dangerous as tone is very subjective in "text". I try to offset the PMS goggle with a pair of dark chocolate bar blinders. ;-)

They do sound like complete jerks.
