  1. Lovely! I am jealous! It is freezing cold here and I have been stuck on the couch for three days with a sinus infection. I am going a bit stir crazy with the need to get outdoors.

I forget sometimes that a good hike can be exercise' date=' it isn't all the gym and classes, plus you get to spend time with your family and enjoy some pretty beautiful scenery :-)[/quote']

I hope you feel better. This has been a rough Spring for allergies and sinus issues.

I love hiking and will do that over the gym any day! It's a good workout tempered by family or solo time and scenery.

  2. WOW' date=' I think this thread is a good lesson... When you're choosing a booking agency and doctor, give the most weight to the more RECENT reviews because a lot can change in a few short months. When I booked back in November, Christy was coordinating for MBC and I could get hold of her any time and she returned emails within hours and never fed me any bullsh!t.... Sounds like she's no longer there and this staff change has really made a difference and not in a good way. I would feel bad if people go by my older recommendation of MBC since obviously they are no longer offering the same experience as when I was sleeved.[/quote']

It sounds like TJ and the most commonly used WLS surgery venues and their surgeons are getting flooded. Too much demand and not enough supply.

I hope and pray that quality does not begin to suffer. Even though I didn't end up in TJ the majority of the shared experiences are positive and extremely affordable. And the care is good. I hope it stays that way.

  3. There is a school of thought by some doctors that yes' date=' the carbonation can stretch your stomach. But there are also doctors that believe this is not true and moderation is key...

Myself? I don't drink SODA anymore it's not something I wish to put in my body anymore.

Not saying that I don't eat crap occasionally...

(Can anyone say 1/2 slice of pizza last night)

Soda was something I used to drink everyday!

It was part of my weekly shopping list. I was addicted to it! I feel good not drinking it anymore.

    But that's just me <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />[/quote']

I'm glad you gave up drinking soda.... But do you ever drink POP? :-P

  4. Talk to your doctor/nut and ask him/her if soda is allowed or not.. and if not' date=' you can ask why it's not allowed. Personally, I like to know exactly WHY I'm doing something.

As for if I've tried it.. yes I have.. and it felt just the same on my sleeve as it did on my full size stomach. My post-op diet instructions said no soda for six weeks and then after that it said it's fine as long as well tolerated. It's not something I drink every day or even every week... but I enjoy a serving on occasion as a treat.[/quote']

    Pop

  5. I know' date=' I like them too and I felt the same way when I learned about the difference in Protein <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/angry.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />..... Now I'm just waiting for someone to tell me that my beloved Quest Protein Bars are bad for me.. Every time I eat one, I think "OMG, these are so delicious... how can they POSSIBLY have so much Protein and Fiber? -What's the catch?"[/quote']

The Quest Bars are awesome. They have a new Pasta product I want to try as well.
