  1. I've been contemplating adding a Duodenal Switch (DS) community for quite some time. Exciting new changes are coming to all our WLS communities. You'll receive further info via an announcement within the next week or so. We plan on adding DS forums once these changes are rolled out.

Way to be on the ball!

  2. “If You Propose To Speak' date=' Always Ask Yourself, Is It True, Is It Necessary, Is It Kind.”

    D. All of the above.

I did not lie, I opined. Truth? Check

I responded to an open question in an open forum. Necessity? Check

    I opined respectfully. Kind? Check

But I'm also fond of Einstein's quote regarding insanity.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

    Albert Einstein

On that note I will refrain from attempting to engage in a conversation on the subject with such decisive minds and not drive myself insane.

  3. I went with Dr. Aceves back in March and I couldn't be more pleased with my care.

Here is a link to my experience. Once I was home and settled I wanted to share every last detail.

I am not a coordinator. I do not get paid for referrals. I give you my word. I just put a lot of thought and time into sharing the details of my journey to pay it forward and helping others find peace of mind while making this decision.

Good luck making your decision. :-)

  4. I was approved for a DS thru my ins. I've only had the sleeve done so far. I am exactly 7 months out today my surgery weight was 413 and I'm now 305. I have lost very little in the last few months' date=' like 5lbs for June and 5lbs for July. My dr said I should know if I will need the 2nd half of the switch around this time. I'm just wondering at what point do you throw in the towel and say I've gone as far as I can with the sleeve? The 2nd part kinda freaks me out although I don't want to be stuck at this weight either. So do you just keep truckin along and lose 5lbs a month til goal or do you go for the 2nd part. This is just something I'm curious about. I'm also freaked out in that I'm still losing hair from getting the sleeve. Am I going to have to go thru all that again too? Idk.[/quote']

Give it at least 2 years. At least!!!

7 months with more than 100 lbs lost is pretty damn awesome. That is approx 14-15 lbs per month, 3-4 lbs a week. It's a process, not a magic wand.

  5. I was just sleeved yesterday by Dr. Aceves and a' date=' feeling pretty darn good... A little more pain today but I have been pretty active... Dr. Aceves even high dived me lol... Any questions please ask!! It's not any easy decision to make and I was sooooo scared[/quote']

He's a genuinely nice surgeon. I had some violent postop puking which caused bad pain in my back and shoulders. It hurt worst than any postop surgical pain.

Dr. Aceves stopped in to check on me and actually massaged my shoulders and neck. He knew I had a lot of vomiting postop.

  6. Oh an apple fritter! I like them because they are BIG... Yes size matters <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

Apple fritters are my fave. Boston Cream are a close second... Both?

  7. [quote=holidayexpressions]I haven't been very happy with Trish. I just still seem like I'm lost with it all. She doesn't return emails and ill text and ask a question and she beats around the bush seems like. I sent her a text two days ago and haven't heard back from her. I have no idea what time my surgery is or anything and it's Thursday.

That would be very stressful. I hope you find some peace of mind.
