I'm on soft blended foods and my list referenced soft fruits cut into small pieces. Such as papaya or melon. Instantly I thought of mangoes. My favorite. I had the hubby buy some cubed mango. I bit off very small pieces and chewed them to mush but now I feel like a pile of rocks are sitting in my sleeve. I guess unsweetened applesauce is as wild as I can be with fruit right now. My daughter, however, has now discovered the joys of mango. :-) Trial and error.

Has anyone tried Ultherapy? Specifically on their neck. Some areas will have to be addressed with surgery. Period. But i am cautiously optimistic my neck area could be improved with Ultherapy. I’m trying to maximize my experience and minimize my cost, so I’m pondering which procedures would be best for me. And when. I’m not quite to goal and I carry most of my weight in my hips, thighs, and butt. I am most sensitive about my arms and thighs. Then my neck, stomach, and breasts.

Has anyone had plastics with Dr. Duran? I am having a hard time finding reviews. Honest, candid experiences appreciated.

Dr. Hector Duran Experiences
AmandaRaeLeo replied to AmandaRaeLeo's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I am apart of this group, thank you. I received a much lower quote from Dr. Duran, and while I know price is not everything, I do want to explore him as well. I am not afraid to pay more if it makes sense. I chose Dr. Aceves as my VSG surgeon even though he was double the cost of many TJ surgeons. -
I’ve heard through the grapevine that BP is doing plastics now. How do I get more info. I’m just about ready to take the plunge!

I sent a request to join the FB group, however, answering the questions here in this thread would be great too. So to allow for transparency and consistency.

Too few calories=stall?
AmandaRaeLeo replied to Journey4myhealth's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Starvation mode is myth we like. "I'm not losing weight because I'm too good at not eating." It also proves that far too many think WLS is magic. It is not. I am almost 4 years out, not yet at goal, and fighting for every damned lb I lose on my way to goal. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Starvation mode is a myth. Our bodies resist change and strive for homeostasis. Do the best you can to get your Protein, nutrients, and fluids in. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
So what about plastic surgery in mexico via connections from this forum
AmandaRaeLeo replied to Beck90's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I'm sorry but we do not and don't plan on getting involved in plastics at this point. Let us know who you go with! What changed??? I've been planning and saving in anticipation of BP adding this option. I had my WLS in Mexico and it was hella stressful having to research and vet every single doctor only by patient experience. Trying to wade through the real people and the coordinators. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

BariatricPal Policy Reminders – Everyone Please Read!
AmandaRaeLeo replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Rants & Raves
Not much at all...............only that some of the folks that were honest with me.....gave me the jolts of truth and challenged me......helped direct me to change my thinking and behaviors..........helped me extend my life....which was soon to end....and now I feel like I'll live forever since taking their advice.........yeah...those people have been permanently banned. Not much has happened. Sadly.....the loss will impact the very newbies that are posting in this thread the most. I was one of them this time a year ago. I wish them well and hope that they can sift through the bs and find some real solid advice from some real solid veterans. There truly aren't many left and it is a poor reflection of what this place is becoming. I am confused about why advice givers are being banned... So are the mass lipstick profile pics for LipStickLady? Was she banned? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Best Plastic Surgeons in Mexico?
AmandaRaeLeo replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Alex, any timeframe on whether BariatricPal will partner with plastic surgeons in Mexico? I'll be needing plastics next summer. We're working on something interesting as I type this....I hope to have some news for you in a week or two. I am wondering where BariatricPal is with this venture? I am closing in on goal and saving accordingly. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
I am almost 3 years out from my sleeve surgery and down 130 lbs. My starting weight was 405 lbs. I consider my VSG to be a success, however, I have been gaining and losing the same 5-10 lbs for about a year. I am considering going back across the border to Mx for a revision. I would love to know what VSG to MGB patients have experienced. Especially if you chose Medical Tourism. Also - with the revision, how do they alter an already altered stomach?

Would you elaborate on the side effects?

Dr. Liza Maria Pompa
AmandaRaeLeo replied to Sleevin-in-secret's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
There is a thread on here from a woman I met in Mexicali who was on her 2nd sleeve after attempting a sleeve with her. She posted her story "Sleeved Twice" on here. It was almost 3 years ago. -
Roll Call; Previously Sleeved...
AmandaRaeLeo posted a topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Hey there to all the previously sleeved... Would you be so kind as to touch base with us? When were you sleeved? Who sleeved you? How much success have you had? Any complications (sure hope not)? Would you do it again? Amanda Rae Ps: Remember, when you go on hiatus, we worry! -
Dr. Alberto Aceves a well known and respected Bariatric Surgeon from Mexicali was killed in a tragic plane crash
AmandaRaeLeo replied to Georgia's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I'm so sad that the reason I came back to MBP to post is due learning about the passing of my amazing surgeon, Dr. Aceves. He was such a nice man and a talented surgeon. I cannot speak on the relationships that those who do not do Medical Tourism build with their medical team locally but for many of us who venture away from our "home" it feels more personal. Dr. Aceves helped me to change my life and made a terrifying decision easy and comfortable, My sympathies to those who's lives are effected by this loss. Amanda Rae -
Just spent most of the day hiking with my family. Kids and I loved it. The hubby complained... Until we got to the waterfall!

I would not be so quick to call others a liar simply to justify your own "slip". I followed my postop diet to the letter.

Quest Bars are not what they say they are
AmandaRaeLeo replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Food and Nutrition
I can eat the Atkins bars like candy. I took my Atkins bars to work and have been sharing them... The Quest bars feel more like a meal. I've relied on them on occasion but I also go weeks or even months without buying them. -
Thoroughly unscientific poll
AmandaRaeLeo replied to GotItDoneInHarlem's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I struggle with a goal. I'm tall and carry my weight in the hips, thighs, and butt. I want to look and feel attractive. Healthy. I want to be fit. But will I know it when I reach it? I struggle with this because I see others who are "never satisfied" when they hit their *goal*. Who want to lose a bit more. Strive for "skinny" which translates into my mind as unhealthy. A long term side effect of this surgery that doesn't get nearly as much attention as leaks, PE, or bougie size are the eating disorders I believe people on here have developed. And the body dysmorphia I've seen posted. I struggle with goals because they scare me. I struggle with how I see my body. I struggle with my addiction.
