I went to my PCP when I made my Mx choice. He plans to do my follow up care. Amanda Rae

So I talked to my hubby about my up and coming surgery. He has been fully aware of and involved all along but the subject came up again while sending in passport card docs today. I asked him if he was worried I'd leave him once I lost my excess wait. I'm a fairly direct person so that's pretty much how the question came out. He admitted that while he is completely supportive of my decision so that I will be healthy and happy he is insecure. Naturally I am reassuring him that I love him and want to be with him. That we've weathered many a storm together and this isn't even a storm. Has anyone else encountered such insecurities from their spouses? Any feedback? Amanda Rae

I like the idea of resting before travel. To bounce back a little. But we are all different. The important thing is to make to safe and healthy choice. Maybe book your flight directly through an airline and pay the extra 20 to insure it or see about date flexibility. No matter what anyone says or opines on this forum you don't know how you will feel postop until you're postop. Amanda Rae

I would rather have my surgery at home with my support system right there rather than across the country and across the border. It has nothing to do with Mexico being Mexico. It's about convenience and comfort for me and comforting to my loved ones. If I had your choice I'd save my money and stay home. Then I'd Celebrate in Mx on vaca with a healthier me. But since WLS is excluded I'm down with Mx! Just make the choice that is best for you and your loved ones... Amanda Rae
