    Rice Rice Baby...

I think giving it a few months makes sense. Thanks for the feedback. Amanda Rae
  2. It's not a myth. It's the rule. But for every rule, there are exceptions. There are benefits to slow and steady weight loss. Your body has time to adjust and your lose skin can firm up better. http://www.livestrong.com/article/406097-why-do-overweight-people-lose-weight-faster/ Amanda Rae
  3. I've been all over this forum since August/September. Originally I chose Dr. Lopez but I ultimately went with Dr. Aceves. My experience with Dr. Aceves and Mexicali Bariatric Center was nothing short of excellent. Amanda Rae
  4. It may be acid reflux. Check with your doc. Amanda Rae

    Throwing Up Chewble Vitamins!

I'm 10 days postop and just started back on Vitamins. I'm taking the Opurity vitamins made by the unjury ppl. No throwing up (so far) although I had to bite it into three pieces and chomp it down. My stomach is gurgling a little but that might be because I also started full liquids today and was drinking a Protein shake. Amanda Rae
  6. Just my two cents. But try to avoid using the the word "only" or anything synonymous when talking about your progress. I really do believe a lot of this is mind over matter. In addition to retraining our brains to eat and how to view food we've got to work on our "fattitude problems". You had surgery. Your body thinks you're starving it. From perhaps 3000+ calories a day to 800. Your body is designed to react accordingly. Do what you know you're supposed to do and don't try and fight nature. You'll only frustrate yourself. Stay away from the scale for a couple of weeks and give your brain a break... Amanda Rae

    Prettynpink headed to Mexico!

I am praying you have a safe and uneventful surgery! Amanda Rae
  8. I had my surgery 3/18. I am still refusing to weigh myself until my PCP appointment on Monday 4/1. But I'm happy to report that when I put my jeans on this morning, the same jeans that a few days b4 surgery were uncomfortably tight, fit me just right. Not tight. Not baggy. Just right. Amanda Rae
  9. I agree. She's the only one who has to live her life. I hope it all works out for the best. Amanda Rae
  10. Who is your Mx surgeon? Maybe you can connect with someone on here who's used your surgeon who can help ease everyone's anxiety? When/if the time comes. Amanda Rae
  11. I have several pair of nice jeans a few sizes down that I'm looking forward to slipping into and rocking. Amanda Rae
  12. May I be so bold as to suggest counseling for your hubby and you too? Obviously his heart was in the right place, but leading you to believe he was supportive and then going behind your back and betraying your confidence shouldn't be ignored. I don't mean he should be "reprimanded" for it, just that its a big deal and maybe should be explored... Since statistics show marriage suffer post WLS, especially when there are pre-WLS issues it may be smart to handle it now. Amanda Rae

From one eating disorder to another?

I saw that when my post submitted. I really hope things get better for you soon. Amanda Rae

From one eating disorder to another?

Maybe I'm simplifying here, but the only advice to be given is see a psychologist. Right away. You got the sleeve to get healthy. Now, you're heading in the direction of being unhealthy again for a different reason. Don't wait. Call tomorrow morning. Amanda Rae

    Sleeved Twice - My Story

Hey Canada! I'm glad you decided to share your story. I'm extra glad that your sleeve is doing its job now!! I understand it can be a challenge to sue in Mx but I definitely agree you should push back at them. Maybe you could get a refund. Amanda Rae
  16. I'm a Water chugger too and I'm happy to hear the sip sip sipping should be temporary. Amanda Rae
  17. I know this is coming from their concern but this almost seems like emotional blackmail. It seems like its decision making time. Poo or get off the pot. Then you live with your choice. Just so you know, I have the utmost sympathy for what you're going through and I hope whatever call you make brings you peace. Amanda Rae
