Blah, blah, blah. No one attacked anyone. No one attempted to interfere with anyone's rights. No one judged anyone. Suggestions were offered, at her request. If someone doesn't want suggestions, don't post it publicly. If you're old enough to drink then you should be old enough to handle various feedback and make your own decision... Without whining about the opinions you don't like. Sheesh.

You have many great surgeons to choose from and many willing to share their WLS stories too. Make a list of what is most important to you and see which surgeon meets your needs the best.

I just had a rant and I want to counter it with some positivity. I know a lot of ppl were sleeved fairly recently and I've seen a lot of new "stalls" threads pop up. I'm avoiding my scale so I'd like to focus on some NSV's to help boost morale. Previously tight clothes are now comfy. Some pants that didn't fit now fit snugly. Bittersweet: bras fitting better around, but alas, looser in the cup. Saw my dad on Easter and then a week later and he was impressed with the "obvious" weight loss in a week. Hubby says clothes fitting me different and he loves "the girls" even tho they're shrinking.

You don't need letters from your doc. They handle everything directly with you.

I am four weeks postop from surgery in Mexicali with Dr. Aceves. You arrive the day b4 surgery for preop testing and stay in the hotel Lucerna. The next day is surgery day and you spend 3 nights in the hospital. They will transport you from the San Diego airport to Mexicali and back. Also to the hotel and Almater Hospital. You need at least a passport card to get back to the USA. Dr. Aceves is wonderful. He's been doing Bariatric surgeries for 15+ years. He is apart of FACS and AMBS. Almater is a full service hospital. He is not the cheapest surgeon but he is worth every dollar.

Idk if this is a NSV or a reason for shame/embarrassment but I've since discovered spots on my legs that have not seen a razor in some time...

I no issue with drinking. I like wine. I'm only 4 weeks postop so I'm still abstaining. Buuuuut. Drinking is not a requirement and there's no reason why one cannot say, "Thanks but just Water for me." Unless the wedding reception will turn into a bad after school special about peer pressure?

My experience with Dr. Aceves was excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to suggest him. Keep us posted in your journey.

This may seem like a dumb question but... Why do you have to drink alcohol at all?

It may be that due to the risk of crossover addiction the docs are being proactive about your health and recovery. They are a neutral observer who may have picked up on something you cannot/will not see and want to help you nip it in the bud b4 it becomes a problem.

I start regular foods on Friday. I'm excited to be eating vegetables again. Any suggestions on which veggies are easier to digest. I've already nixed celery, corn, and asparagus as they are fibrous or do not digest well.
