    Dr. Garcia vs. Dr. Aceves?

I wouldn't be surprised if he continues to outgrow his current arrangements considering how in demand he is and his consistent patient satisfaction and loyal following.

    Can't stop losing

My intent is not to over simplify, but I thought the idea behind maintenance was to gradually increase your intake (ie. calories, fat, healthy carbs) to find out where you stop losing, start maintaining, and prevent regaining?

    Can't stop losing

OP: I know I'm addicted to food. I worry this obsession I have with food will switch from one bad extreme to another. Without knowing you personally I can only ask, have you researched that?

    Hero Worship?

I hope your experience meets and then exceeds your expectations.
  9. I think a lot if us, most of us, Mexi-Sleevers develop a kind of mild case of hero worship for our surgeons. It kind of makes sense. We are obese to morbidly obese. We are struggling to get affordable life saving surgery. And viola! There it is. Between 4k-10k. Life saving/changing surgery. We devote, typically although not exclusively, months of research and saving to get the surgery. We travel, sometimes thousands of mile, away from our comfort zones (home), to a country where our 1st language (more often than not) is not our medical teams 1st language. We do this alone or with a trusted Plus 1. More often than not our experiences exceed our expectations. A new day. A new life. A new beginning. We feel a sense of loyalty and hero worship who helped put that chance for a new life within our grasp. Or... I'm totally way off the mark and merely waxing poetic.
  10. Hooray for you! I hope your surgery and recovery are uneventful.

Am I doomed? (Please say no!)

Lol! Remember the Alka Seltzer commercials?
  12. Can you help me with that pesky head hunger? I've stretched my thimble...

    Slimies. Foamies.

It is excruciating... And my surgeon used a thimble.

    Slimies. Foamies.

I bought rotisserie chicken and took a hefty bite, not thinking. It was too much. Lesson learned.

    Slimies. Foamies.

Oops I did it again. :-(
  16. You see folks. It's not just Mx coordinators who come on here endorsing their surgeon/facility. Dr. B posted in another thread subtly implying no aftercare stateside for Mx Sleevers. That's just not true. That being said, I know nothing about this option other than a fleeting moment of checking their site out while researching. Dr. Aceves was a reach for me so this was definitely out of reach. Good luck to all no matter who you choose. I hope your experience exceeds your expectations and your recovery is uneventful. And if course, a healthy and successful Sleeved Life. :-)

    Slimies. Foamies.

I had the brick. Right below the rib cage. I've had a flood of thick saliva accompanied by huge spit bubbles (tmi?) and then gagging/puking. I figured I was sliming but wanted to confirm that there was not yet another fun sleeve experience out there in addition to aforementioned experience! I too ate too fast. I learned my lesson for sure!

    Large sleeve!

As you can see, the difference is minimal.
