I quit smoking almost 8 years ago. I inadvertently quit drinking pop as well. Once I got through detoxing from both it didn't make sense to me to pick up a bad habit again. But still, once every 6-9 months I get a powerful taste for diet coke. My previous poison preference. Here in good ole Ohio we have this marvel called Polar Pops. For $0.69 you can buy any size fountain pop they have ranging from 16 oz to 64 oz. I've been known to partake in a caffeine free diet coke, heavily iced. I made sure to do that right before surgery to get my fix. And it was a whole 64 oz, as I do not plan to revisit pop anytime soon. Down the road, who knows. But it's not in my plans. I guess my biggest point is this. I don't want to "plan" on food or beverages any more. I don't want to anticipate eating or drinking. Right now that whole concept, for me, is a trigger. Maybe my brain will be effectively retrained down the road, but for now I'm trying my hardest to tow the line. Walk the walk. I need to know without any doubt that I'm confident in my decision making. I know I'm not there at 7 weeks postop. I don't see me being there at four months postop either. But that's me.

What's this "soda" y'all are talking about? Doncha know its called "pop".

Our demons are strong. Recognizing there is a problem is the first and biggest step towards being stronger than our demons.

I did not have a revision but I did go to Dr. Aceves. He's wonderful. Also, I am also guessing that any surgeon that will do it in one fell swoop, be it Mx or the States, will stop the surgery if they open you up and find its too risky to proceed.

I had some blood when I threw up. 7 weeks postop. It was red.

I used Dr. Aceves. My experience was amazing. First night in hotel, preop. 3 nights in hospital. My mom was with me. My room was private. She had to feed herself but stay with me no extra charge. If she opted for hotel over hospital it world have been on her dime. Dr. Aceves is 8750 out the door for a straight up sleeve. I posted a detailed account on the forum too.

My insurance completely excludes it so I went as a self pay to Mexico. My experience was better than I could have hoped for. I know Mx isn't for everyone, but remember its an option.
