Anyone scheduled for 11/4 w/ Dr. Aceves in Mexicali?
AmandaRaeLeo replied to nomorecupcakes's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Best of luck to you. Having a great support system makes such a difference. My hubby and family were cautiously supportive too. Mx threw them for a loop. My mom went with me and she was taken aback in a positive way with my surgical team and everything else at Almater. -
It is really yummy and quick. I'm a fan. I mentioned on MFP that when I get a Wake Up Wrap from Dunkin Donuts, which is comparable, it slides and I only takes 10-15 minutes to eat. When I make my wrap it takes about 45 minutes.... General consensus is it due to the white flour tortilla they use vs me using a whole grain tortilla.

I just wanted to share my tasty and easy to make Breakfast wrap. 1 Eggland's Best Cage Free brown egg 1oz Oscar Meyer's Carving Board ham 1 slice Kraft 2% American cheese 1 Buena Vista low carb tortilla 8 inch I use Smart Balance nonstick butter spray to toast the tortilla in the pan and keep the egg, which I make over hard, from sticking. I use the nonstick spray when browning the ham. I toast the tortilla. Set it on the plate. Place the cheese on the tortilla Cook the egg over hard, then place it on the cheese. Brown the ham and place it on the egg. I've also made it with crumbled turkey sausage. It takes me about an hour to eat it and its very filling. 20 grams of Protein and 6 net carbs.

2 Year old had VSG 2 years ago.

This article has a bit more info and whatnot. Beware of the comments tho. They are, as usual, brutal and full of a bad fattitude. http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/20/living/parents-2-year-old-weight-loss-surgery/index.html?hpt=hp_bn11 -

Just read this article on Yahoo... I cannot imagine WLS on one that young. I was really taken aback by the mom who was (is?) getting sleeved with her teen in Mx. http://health.yahoo.net/articles/obesity/obese-2-year-old-gets-weight-loss-surgery It says he had surgery in 2010 and is now at a healthy weight/BMI with sleep apnea resolved. -

I brought Unjury chicken broth powder. Such a life saver with all my flight delays and the blizzard in Denver. -

It's all trial and error. And boy do I know it if I drink too soon after eating. Pasta doesn't sit well with me. One small bite and my meal is done. It sits like an uncomfortable brick. Just that one tiny bite!!! Even if its my first and only bite in a meal. Fried foods hurt too. I've had a lot of fun finding and creating healthier alternatives to my fave dishes that were less than stellar. That's a habit I started with Weight Watchers. Oh, and beware of the Sleeve Authority! -

I went to him this past March. My experience was met and exceeded my expectations. There are quite a few threads on here with reviews, feedback, and detailed accounts. I recommend checking them out. -

Myth. They don't "clean" your system. They dilute your urine. It's still a gamble. -

So yummy. So easy. 1/2 Spanish Onion, chopped or diced 4 pieces of garlic, chopped or diced 2 tbls olive oil or unsalted butter (your preference) Saute onion and garlic in large deep pan w/ olive oil or butter until golden brown Add 1 green and 1 red bell pepper, sliced into thumb sized chunks Stir continually Add approx 1 lb of Brussels Sprouts, stem removed and halved. Add any leaves that fall off too Add 1 package skinless tukey smoked sausage, sliced... Cont to stir until veggies and sausage are browned. Set aside 3 boneless skinless chicken breast, cubed, and tossed in 4 TBLS of flour, a teaspoon of salt and teaspoon of pepper 2 tbls of olive oil or unsalted butter (your preference) in a separate pan Added breaded chicked and cooked until golden brown Add chicken to veggie/sausage pan scraping along any breading that stuck to the pan Put collective mixture back on the heat Add 1 can of reduced sodium chicken broth Add 1.5 - 2 cups of dry white wine Stir. Cover. Simmer on low-med heat until wine reduces, and cooks out the alcohol, the veggies are tender, and the chicken in cooked through Serve over low carb angel hair Pasta

Adventures in Brussels Sprouts

Its a type of onion. Should be labeled in the produce section. I like the flavor it adds. But any onion you like is fine. -

Do you feel you settled for your partner because you were fat?
AmandaRaeLeo replied to Disabledaccount's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Unless your relationship is a toxic relationship I don't think it's fair to say "settled". It seems to imply an elitist state of mind. I think it would be more apropos to say your partner isn't your best match. I say this as someone who is in a tumultuous marriage. I kept thinking I "settled". But that's not fair to my hubby. He doesn't deserve that implied insult that he is less than worthy. It just may be we are not a matched set after all. It's scary and painful to realize that. But putting him down to build me up? Not cool. -

Don't blame him for not changing. You made the choice to change. He is not obligated to follow your lead. Own it. Make a choice. Except responsibility for your choices. Move forward.
