    Almost 6Months Out..123Lbs Down

Ok, ok, I have to add my WOWS and congrats, as well. You've done amazingly. But I have to add for the ladies...men have it all over us in the weight loosing department, so don't expect similar results. I'm not diminishing your efforts, which had to be great or you would not have been so successful. Ya dun good!!

    Where Did The Excitement Go?

You poor thing. You do need to see someone. Any WLS support groups you can go to? Sometimes just getting out there and seeing the world still goes on can be a good thing. Do whatever you can to feel better (except food!). Keep posting.

    I Just Chickened Out

I am 52, 260 lbs and afraid to have the surgery. But I am also afraid to NOT have the surgery. Life is short. So trite, I know. 52 sounds like a long time, huh? It's not! I have friends in their 70s more active than I am. Being older doesn't have to mean being old and I fear a sad, sedentary future if I don't have the surgery. What I mean for all of us is, we can skip the surgery, stay obese, have all that sickness that goes with obesity, which only get worse the more we age, OR, we can take the chance on the surgery and live lighter, healthier, more active lives with our loved ones for whatever time we have left on the planet! The chances of complications to surgery are less when you compare it to future complications from obesity. Good luck to all of us.

    How Do I Stay Positive?

Hi, Irish1988. I am the same way. Unless you stay doped up until after surgery, the fear and panic won't go away. Boy, I'm a big box of fun, huh? Honestly, though, when you are being prepped, they will give you a sedative and you'll finally feel much better!

    I Have f**king Had It!

Letia, hang in there! Your second post sounds much calmer and sane. That's the problem with getting your feelings through in writing. It really comes out differently and more intensely with each reader! You'll survive and be happy with more time.

    "ehhh You Cheater"

People said that to me after I had a c-section with my first child. Easy way?! I went through 36 hours of labor and at the last moment the doctor came in and said we need to do a c-section. I couldn't even have ice chips for two days after that surgery, I swelled up like a balloon from the IVs and I had an infection in the incision. I cried for three days and begged them to take out the IVs so that I could stop swelling. So they did and punished me with huge needles they shot in my bum that I can still feel to this day. Easy? Slap those people for me.
  15. I want to climb a mountain!
  16. Germen, I can't believe all the activities you did right after your surgery. You are super! You also did a great job describing your journey with pictures and everything. Your story is inspiring and I admire your spirit. Keep us informed about your progress.

    Wls Seminar Today...

Went to the seminar today to get much needed info. The group we are going with has three surgeons who do these surgeries. I was interested in the sleeve but the doc leading the group today said he is not keen on the VSG only because of the track record of restrictive procedures. He made sure to point out that whatever the patient wants the patient gets but I think they push for the RNY. One of the other docs really likes the VSG so maybe he gets all those patients. Our appointment is Oct. 10. We have to get letters of approval from our primary doc and show past weigh-ins from office visits. Has anyone out there had trouble showing a history? I especially am concerned about showing my son's past weight issues. He goes to the docs far less than I. Any input will be appreciated.
