  1. I will have had my surgery 4 weeks this Friday. I have noticed that I CAN eat just about anything right now and have been for about a week even though I should be on soft foods for another 4 days. I haven't been over-eating but I have been eating normal foods. I lost a total of 14 lbs from my pre-op and post liquid diet. BUT gained 2 lbs back since I have been eating regular foods. I feel absolutely NO restriction and will have my first fill on 9/14. This is my question: - I know everyone is different however is it normal not to lose weight until after your first fill? - Is it normal to not have any restriction at all before your 1st fill? - And has anyone else gained a few pounds back during this time? I am worried now that I have started to gain when I feel as if I should be going down hill instead of up! Thanks for your input? ~Susan

    be honest

I was banded on 8/10/07.I will be honest. I did not follow the instructionst to the T. I was supposed to be on clear liquids for 2 wks and then soft mashed foods for 2 wks. I did eat soups like mushroom and tomato soups the first 2 weeeks, By the 3 week I was on solid but soft foods.. I do not encourage doing what I did though I dont think I have had any problems.HOWEVER I did not eat solids until at least 2 wks later... Now for you is way too soon. Eat a hearty cream soup before you think about solids
  3. Wow, Sounds like someone did there research! Thanks for the information!
  4. Thanks you guys! Now I don't feel as if this was all for nothing. Also I am noticing now how the certain people I have told are starting to make comments about what I eat and asking how much I have lost. Starting to get annoying.... Hey losingjustme- How do I find the bandsterhell site? Thanks!
  5. I am on day 14 post op. I have cheated a few times w/ bites of regular food. I know this is not good and have tried really hard to stay on Soups only. This is my question. Are there signs if you do have a slippage? Or is this something you find out when you meet for the first time with the DR? :omg: Thanks for your input!
  6. I had my surgery on 8/10. Before that I was strictly 3 slimfasts a day 1 week prior to the surgery. It was hard but I did it. I have been on strictly liquids since my surgery mostly Soups of all sorts w/ no chunks. But today 7 days into my post-op I cheated! I couldn't take it anymore and had to eat/chew on something. So I had half an eggroll and about 3 medium bites of chinese noodles. It all went down ok. No pain. But now I am scared of what I could have done to my body since my surgery was only a week ago. Has anyone else done this? And if so how did you handle it later? Or am I the only weak one here? 265/255/150:help:
  7. Not to sound negative but 40lbs in 4 years doesnt sound like much weight loss to me...
  8. <p>I rec'd my band 6 days ago. I just want my body to get back to feeling normal. I have had an upset stomach the last few days and my incision area is still a little tender. I cant say either way if I am glad I did this or not as I am still in post op. I am starving I can say that and dont know how I will get through the next week on liquids only. I am just hoping that this is the hard part and it will get better once I am on solids..</p> <p><a href="Weight Loss - Diet Ticker"></p> <p><img border="0" src="<A href="http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/wgEB5cN/weight.png"></a">http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/wgEB5cN/weight.png"></a></p>

    trouble with liquids

I rec'd mine on Friday the 10th. Today is the first day that I actually feel better. So close to 6 days later. My incision bothered me for some time and my stomach has been upset. I am gassy as well and constantly feel as if I have something stuck in my chest area. Does anyone else have an upset stomach. Will this go away?/
  10. Hi this is my first post after reading the emails for almost 2 mos now. I really want to give this gift to myself and have somewhat started the process. I have my first consultation at Cincinnati Weight loss center on May 17th. I am hoping to find out more about how the insurance side of it works. Like what exactly do they need and from who? How long does it normally take to get approved etc.. Also I have read how some people still have lots of cravings and are still overeating. I didn't think it was possible to over eat with the band. I really want to succeed with this and need some postive experiences.. I am taking the money out of my 401 K and want this to be the best decision I have made for myself.... Any thoughts? [/img]
