Check your water intake. It sounds like you may be dehydrated.

I'm 14 months post op. I'm at goal and YAY!! So I have a miserable cold, really really sick. I took a half a teaspoon of phenergran/codeine cough syrup and thought I was going to DIE! Right in the center of my chest below my girls it tightened and the pain brought me to my knees for about 40 minutes. Does anybody know or have an idea of what that was? Something tells me I need to go back to my pre op notes and see if the above was a no no.

Concerned.. Horrible gas/chest pain..
Snow replied to hope1106's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks so much for going to ER!!! I cannot believe what you experienced!!! I'm completely amazed. I'm 14 months post-op and your symtons do not sound good. I'm really puzzled as you are. I do know that if you have a leak your heartrate goes up. You shouldn't be in pain at this time after your surgery. Have you ever been told you were anemic before? If I were you, I would do everything in my power to talk directly to your surgeon. They should be on call for emergencies. They should have given you an X-ray. Just wow!!! If your anemic where is the blood going? I'm confused. Stay in this forum and hopefully somebody has some better advice than what I can give you. Also you can search your symtoms at the top and read post that have been made with your symtoms . -

I think you should go to ER immediately! Blood clot? Whatever it could be please don't wait! -
Happens to me too! I go to the chiropractor to get adjusted and it helps me feel so much better.

Maybe I can help. I agree it could be your kidneys. The post op diet we have for the rest of our lives now will be very hard on the kidneys. I have had kidney stones and surgery for them. I've also had kidney infections. The best way to find out if it's your kidneys is to start with a urine test at your Drs office. There they can tell you if there's blood in your urine. That's usually the first indicator medically of kidney stones. The true test would be an ultrasound or a MRI. The kidneys have a very difficult time with a lot of protein. This is why you need to drink water water water water. This is only from my personal experience. Don't take any chances. Make an appointment to see the Dr about this.

Wow! You have your life back! Congratulations!! -
I'm 1 year 2 months out! Addiction for me yes! If its not coffee, it's shopping or buying nightlights for my house. Oh and crystallised ginger (yum) it doesn't take much to get me started but I'm full speed ahead when I do. You are on the right track to speak to the psych. That's what I did with my surgeons advice as well as seeing the nutritionist as well. I had started drinking soda as well. I will tell you I learned that if I didn't change these things my WLS would fail. I never really understood why I couldn't drink soda but I learned the carbonation will stretch your stomach. Also if you eat the weight of the food with a beverage before waiting an hour will cause your stomach to stretch. Maybe that will help you. My psych said one thing that really helped me. "We all have thoughts go through our minds all day long, just because we have those thoughts doesn't mean we have to act on them" No need to be embarrassed. I mean being nightlights is really a crazy addiction as well. If its medication try to think about what you are putting your liver through when you take any medications. I'm wishing you the best with this issue. It is very real. Search in the search box above the list of rooms. Type in cross over addiction .

How's that diet working for you?

Caffeine withdrawals ?

Not surprised you're discouraged. With a dr that says eat anything you want? Wow! In my opinion I don't agree with that advice at all!
