Dehydration is the number one reason why WLS patients are admitted back into the hospital. That's what I was told. -

Wow just wow! Congratulations! Did you ever think that there was a reason why the surgery didn't happen all those times? I'm so glad you have your life back! May God Bless you!! -

I'm over a year out of surgery. This was the easiest surgery I've ever had. I was back to work in a week. There's just a few things to remember like how much you can pick up. I think it's 20lbs not sure. You just take your food to work and go for it. Soups are wonderful to take. You have a lot of things going for you. Hopefully you will be as surprised as I was by feeling so good. You got this!! Praying..... -

Gas pains 8 months out!?!?!?

Sorry to hear its gallstones. You're doing the right thing by getting rid of them before it causes more problems. My advice to you is to stay ahead of the pain. Do not get behind. Also however much weight they say not to lift after surgery, they mean it. Don't test it. -

Gas pains 8 months out!?!?!?

I was really mean in recovery to my nurse. I remember her saying "Stop moving! The more you move the worse you make the pain". I think I said some things that I didn't mean! -
Wow! How awesome is that? She's amazing and very good bedside manner! Best of luck to you! I feel off track in January and she knew exactly what to do to get me to goal. I love her!

Gas pains 8 months out!?!?!?
Snow replied to imworthit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Gallbladder surgery was tougher than the sleeve. Don't want to make you feel uneasy about it. Some people say it was easy. I left the hospital 3 hours after the surgery. My problem was that I did not stay ahead of the pain with pain meds. -
Gas pains 8 months out!?!?!?

Let me be more specific. I was sleeved in July 2012. In January 2013 I had pains on the bottom of my right rib cage that traveled to my back. Similar in your description. They increasingly got worse, unbearable. I called my doctor she asked me what I had eaten. Well, I treated myself to a Cappachino at Starbucks. I was told if I had gallstones any consumption of fat would trigger a gallstone attack. Few days later I had a ultrasound and was positive for gallstones. One more thing I want to mention. I also had heart palpations. I googled gallstone symtoms and read that they can give you symtoms of a heart attack. Had my gallbladder removed in January. So be sure to call your Dr. Rapid weightloss affects the gallbladder and if you have stones don't fool around as they can get stuck near your pancreas duct. I really hope this helps you find the problem. I'm also hoping it is just gas. Gallstones are very common after this surgery. There is medication that I have read that Drs give after surgery to prevent gallstones. I was not given any prescriptions for gallbladder. If you search "gallstones" at the top of this forum in search box I can guarantee you alot more information. My blessings to you! Good luck -

We all have all kinds of thoughts throughout the day. That's normal. Because we have those thoughts does not mean you have to act on them! -
Go back to your Dr. See your nutritionist. See the psychologist . Same thing happened to me. I did all of the above and made it to goal!

I'm just going to take a wild guess! They cut that part of the stomach out? How'd I do?
