I saw coconut water in the health food store...somehow it doesn't sound appealing to me...please describe it

I just don't get it...
tigerbelle replied to brandnewbie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think Dean said it accurately when he compared it to a lean person asking a fat one why they eat so much...I think we have come to the general conclusion that most of us chose WLS because we realize we have a problem with eating...just because surgery is looming does not mean the person magically gains control of their eating habits...I was fortunate that my dr didn't require a pre-op at all--just fasting the day before as with any surgery...I have often said that I am not sure I could have done a 2-week pre-op liquid diet; it was extremely difficult to do it post-op -
Size 6 is so big on me now...i used to be a size 24
tigerbelle replied to Sweetcarol238's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
good deal, sweetcarol and Jugee, please don't compare yourself to others...we are all different....this is something my nutritionist was emphatic about yesterday -
Laura, "tomato basil string cheese?" I never heard of that...is it in the deli section?

I am 12 days out today, and it was a very discouraging day--food-wise, that is...it is my 12th day of liquids only, and I am really getting tired of it...and I am so hungry--true hunger--not the head hunger stuff...today was my nephew's graduation and after-party, and I was around food all afternoon...chips and salsa, queso dip, spinach dip, pizza, and homemade chocolate cupcakes...and I just had my bottled water to sip on...I know I sound like a cry-baby, and I should be focusing on the fact that I've had a very smooth recovery so far with little discomfort...I should be grateful for that, and I feel a little guilty for complaining, but I really just want some food--even if it's just a few bites...today is the first day where I've really started to have doubts about being able to do this...I have an appointment with the dietitian on Monday afternoon...I hope she can give me some encouragement and the go-ahead to move on to soft foods...thanks for listening to my vent

How long off work?
tigerbelle replied to superstarsandi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I scheduled two weeks off tentatively, although I have been working from home (emails, etc.) most of that time...I was going to go back half days this week, but I just don't have the energy yet...tomorrow I start on soft foods, and I am hoping I will regain some of my energy...physically I could go back tomorrow with no problem--it's just the low energy level, plus mentally I am challenged right now being on a liquid diet and being hungry all the time--just don't want to add the stress of being at the office to the mix...and I am fortunate to have the time off available with pay -
Today is day 14...finally tomorrow I can progress to soft foods...I am not sure I could have taken this liquid diet another day...I am a little worried about expanding my diet, but I am at my wit's end here...I am definitely feeling real hunger, plus my energy is almost totally zapped...I am grateful for no physical complications, but I need some food

Woman's Hospital--Louisiana
tigerbelle replied to JolieBug's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Aline, I just sip from the cup or water bottle--no straws...and I know I wouldn't be comfortable using a sippy cup, even though my dietitian had suggested it -
zempress, how did you use the chicken soup flavored one? did you add it to cream of chicken soup? I did, and I got the same effect as you did with the dump clumps in the tomato soup

May 2013 Sleevers!
tigerbelle replied to boomarienewme's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 12 days post-op, and I will join in with you...in fact I just started a topic about it...I just want to have some solid food--have been on liquid diet since surgery (how about you?)...today we had a small family party after my nephew's graduation; it was difficult to watch everyone eat the party foods while I sipped on my bottled water...I knew it would be hard, but most people had said that post-surgery at least they didn't feel hunger...I must be in the small minority, because I am truly feeling hunger--physical hunger and not just head hunger -
Deciding on surgery knowing I will be a slow loser - help!
tigerbelle replied to takingbackcontrol's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
glad it went well...my surgeon was also very well-known and competent...he was also very confident, and that helped a lot to make me more comfortable -
Just starting the journey
tigerbelle replied to Mrs. Hickerson's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
welcome, and I agree with the two previous posts...use this time to plan and read as much as you can on the procedure...also, ask questions here a lot...that is what I did...all the best on your journey -
I have added Unjury to soups before, and I even tested the temp to make sure it was under 140 degrees...however, the powder did not completely dissolved and still got clumpy

I understand...it is true that the experiences vary widely for different people--even what you can eat or tolerate so many weeks or months out...what you are doing now is the best path I think; i.e., meeting with the drs and discussing your concerns...consulting with your husband (I didn't have that support since I am single), and researching and asking questions...hope all goes well with your dr visits -
3 days out and in minor pain
tigerbelle replied to miss_latina89's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had that same gas bubble feeling right in between my breasts--mine sat there for more than a few seconds though...I started taking the PPI (Prevacid) that my dr had prescribed, and thank goodness I rarely have that any more...I do have to be careful that I don't drink too much at one time still; I am on the liquid diet for another few days -

thanks...feeling a little better today...only 3 more days on liquid diet...I didn't realize how hard it was going to be to get in the fluids and protein--even though it feels like I am always drinking something -
3 days out and in minor pain
tigerbelle replied to miss_latina89's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
the only pain I had at home was some gas pain for a couple of days...it helped to walk some and take Gas-x...I hope you are feeling a lot better soon -
I think not...I think eventually you will get tired of them...how far out are you from surgery and what stage of post-op diet?
