Shocked By Sleeve Experience!
hawkihoops replied to TamaraS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
love to hear the good side. I am a fellow nervous obsessive. After finding out I am very sensitive to blood thinners, things went much better. I have been doing great post op with consumption of my diet plan. Fortunately my doc isn't crazy about the full liquids for such a ridiculous length of time post op. I was able to start egg, deli meat, string cheese on day 7. Hope you continue to feel well and have great success with your sleeve. -
Are My Eyes Playing Tricks On Me?
hawkihoops replied to Lucky Lady 702's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a water retainer big time and it is sooooo frustrating. I also am a slave to the scale, but I try to use it as a tool. Set yourself a weigh in day and time as PP said and only "count" that as official. No matter how many times you get on the scale. -
I Have f**king Had It!
hawkihoops replied to sexy_sleevegirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was sleeved the same day and I feel so bad for you that you are experiencing complications. Are you taking Prilosec or something similar? I was really not able to sip, I drink way faster and more than I should. It is so frustrating how you honestly can only begin to imagine what you will go through post op. My BFF had similar issues as you at first. I remember her saying over and over she wanted to die and I still went through with this because I knew I WOULD die if I didn't get my **** together. Hang in there sounds so flip but really, everyday is a new one and hopefully a step forward in your healing. I agree about finding a local support system, talking to your doc and nut and trying to get further answers about why this is so uncomfortable for you. trying to locate the source of the problem. -
yes. do I suggest going to the movies and ordering a big ol tub of buttery love? No. Popcorn does have some nutritional value but it is also a slider food. It is easy to consume a lot because it dissolves into goo. there are at least a few more popcorn threads on here. do a search for more suggestions.

Help I'm Hungry!
hawkihoops replied to For-me-and-only-me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you taking Prilosec or anything like that? I swear I felt like I was starving, it was gas/acid whatever. Hope you can make it two more days. I don't recommend cheating at this stage. -
I don't think I would be waiting for the appointment on the 8th but would be trying to get in sooner. 3 weeks is a long time to go without. Everyone is going to be different, but I would be insane right now if I were you. Hang in there.

What's Your Pros
hawkihoops replied to PhatGirl1975's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
absolutely my family. Looking better will be a side benefit but I want more than anything to see my babies grow up. -
I just prefer mine straight up. But I am very picky about my cottage cheese. I will only eat Anderson Erickson fat free which is hard to find.

try to focus on the journey that brought you here and don't let that work be for nothing. I honestly don't think never should be in anyone's vocabulary because it will likely set you up for failure. If you deprive yourself, you may just lose control. But you need to think about the choices you make and exercise for the slips or treats you might allow yourself. try measuring sweets in a different unit. how many minutes of walking does one cookie equal? stuff like that. -
What Cant U Wait To Do Post Op?
hawkihoops replied to VNaNa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Starting Full Liquids Too Soon Bad Idea?
hawkihoops replied to Chezaraeh's topic in Food and Nutrition
If it falls within what you have seen others allowed, I personally would step out a little more and try something more substantial. I am one day ahead of you surgery wise but I was allowed strained cream soups and yogurts already. I am moving on to deli meat and cottage cheese and egg on Monday. Dying to chew something. The broth sloshing around in my belly was making me ill. I actually have been eating egg drop soup since I got out. It had more substance to it. -
Carbs, Carbs, Carbs!
hawkihoops replied to buforu21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
that is the goal I am working too as well. I want to use my tool to control the portions and hopefully my head to make better choices. But, I know if I deprive, I will lose my tool along with my mind. thanks for posting this. -
that does suck, but so important to stick to so you can heal properly. It does get easier.

this is one of the hardest struggles I am having.

When You Were 3 Months Post-Op Vsg How Many Pounds Had You Lost?
hawkihoops replied to Karen2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
if that is really all you are eating you are likely in starvation mode. are you counting calories and your Protein? how many ounces in your shake? I would add another shake in there between meals. -
prayers you got em. try to look at it as a good thing to have found now. It is probably nothing and then you will know.
-
that sounds really good!
-
that would have been torture to be there with them. It will get better.

hawkihoops replied to sexy_sleevegirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story

I Feel As Though I Am Going To Fail At This Like All The Other Times... Any Encouraging Words?!?
hawkihoops replied to Malisima69's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
totally normal to have those fears. You just really have to focus on changing the way you think. If you don't take this step, wouldn't that be a failure based on all that you have already put towards it? I know all the psychobabble and it is hard to hear it but it is just a choice you have to make for you. Decide that you deserve to be successful at this and nobody can stop you but you. -
If It's Not One Thing Its Another!
hawkihoops replied to SoonToBeThinKAT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
hang in there. I understand feeling jealous of everyone who seems to have smooth sailing. Let them get you all figured out and hopefully this rough start will all be a distant memory soon. -
definitely one of those things geared to mess with our heads. It is totally normal to want to see visual evidence and validation of all your hard work. Keep hanging in. You will get there and this will be but a bump on the road.
