This may sound funny or weird, I was sleeved Aug. 21, 2012, down 93lbs! Which is fantabulous!!! Here's the thing, I've noticed that I can't laugh like I used to...just a few chuckles gives me that laughter pain you get when you've laughed so hard you almost peed your pants!! It's weird that long deep laughter is gone! Anyone else notice that???

Two things that does not seem to go away are the nasty taste in my mouth and the cramps/sour stomach feeling....anyone else go thru this? The cramps/sour stomach really bother me, surgeon tells me it's part of the healing process, but I'm getting soooooooo discouraged!

I am doing soooooo well now, everything is back to normal. Had a very tough 3 months but I'm good. The sour stomach was caused by a blood clog that I had, apparently the clog had been there well before surgery, and I didn't know, it damaged my liver and I had to get my nutrition from a picc line, but now I'm feeling amazing!!! 52 lbs down and it's just fantastic!!

Cramps/sour Stomach
Starlite1531 replied to Starlite1531's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
***UPDATE*** Soooo after another trip to the hospital and an 8 day stay, I'm finally home, with a picc line and on TPN, I'm hooked to it now for just 12 hrs, but started at 20 hrs. Dr. Found that the problem was the blood clot, which apparently had been there for some time, and it damaged my liver. But thank God almighty the blot clot has opened and the liver is recuperating. The sour stomach/vomiting was because of that. I no longer regret my sleeve, now I am thankful, is it wasn't for the surgery I would have never known about the clot, I could have had my liver completely shut down, I could have died. I'm back on track, I'm getting better and best of all I'm smiling again. -

Absolutley loooooooooove Dr. Strom!!! They my ordeal (which was not sleeve related) he has been awesome. His entire staff is great. He has been so concerned and extremely helpful. I would recommend him any day. I found him thru my insurance and went to the seminar. -

Starlite1531 replied to Starlite1531's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes on the taste!!! I used to be able to drink tap, but it tastes like metal! I do notice that the cramps get worst with time if I don't eat, but still get cramps even if I eat! Sucks!! I can't get much down, a spoonful or so, I'm soooo annoyed -
I know how you feel, I'm there! I just can't get myself up to anything, it's hard to eat, I feel depressed, it's horrible, I really hope I start feeling better soon! I you feel better too!

Getting Drainage Tube Removed

It is definitely a very weird feeling, lasts one a few seconds. I agree with the other post, it does feel like a snake moving around inside. -
Every 3 Hours...
Starlite1531 replied to doxieville's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get hungry too! It's definitely not like before when there is a feeling of hunger and it gets stronger as time goes by, now it's more like I'm hungry no preview or warning...and then comes the pain, which is weird, if I take my time getting something together I get pains...I have to work on timing! -
Every dr. Has a different plan, but I do not think you are supposed to be eating chips 3 1/2 weeks out. You should let the surgeon know about that.
