Hello Everyone! I've been contemplating the Gastric Sleeve since July 2012. My main obstacle has been finances. My health insurance doesn't cover any kind of weight loss surgery no matter how obese you may or may not be. Currently my BMI is 40. I'm 29 and have struggled with my weight for a long time. Seems like I have tried everything. After doing some research I'm 99% sure that I'll be having my surgery with in Mexico. What I'm not sure about, is with which Dr. I am currently looking at three. Dr. Almanza, Dr. Kelly and Dr. Quinones. Going to Mexico is the only way I will be able to afford the surgery. I'll also have to use my FSA account through work. I am at my heaviest right now and I know if I don't do something drastic things will get worse. I am already starting to feel the toll my weight is taking on my body. I was diagnosed with LPR this year. I've also developed plantars in my left foot. I have a different sort of pain on the top of my right foot as well as hurting knees. Luckily I don't have type 2 diabetes or high blood pressure. Both of those run in my family. I think this will be a long 4-5 month wait but looking forward to life changes and getting healthy for myself and my kids. Any tips or suggestions between now and January are much appreciated!
