My name is Patricia Butler. I am a married, 42 year old woman with two children, ages 22 and 11. August 17, 2012, I had a visit with a doctor in Metairie, LA to talk about WLS. I met with his Nurse Practitioner and she said that I was a candidate for whichever surgery I choose. I decided that the Sleeve was the best choice for me. The only requirement that I had prior to surgery was to get bloodwork and a Cardiac Clearance from my Cardiologist. My insurance, Blue Cross, Blue Shield of Louisiana, did not require any prerequisites for surgery. The next day, Saturday, I did my bloodwork and visited my Cardiologist on the following Monday. It took about a week to get the blood results. Then Hurricane Isaac hit Louisiana on August 28th!! The Hurricane set the surgeries back a week. Instead of doing my pre-op diet for two weeks, I ended up doing it from September 3rd - October! I lost 18.5lbs prior to surgery. My Sleeve Surgery was October 4th at a Surgical Center. I had no complications and left the facility on October 5th.

Update! Today is January 23, 2013... my weight is now 179!! I am sooo happy .... from a size 18/20 to a size 14 in 3 1/2 months!!
I can't wait to see how much I will have lost by the summer!

Another Update! Today is September 5, 2013... my weight is now 150.5! I am now in a size 8 from a size 18/20! Can't wait to see what my yearly visit will hold on October 2nd!

Yearly Visit! My yearly visit was great! I weighed 146, 4lbs below my goal. Size 8 seems to be the size. :)
