Hey Jordan, congrats on your loss I am doing amazing! I was very fortunate & had no issues from the surgury. I did have the nasty diarhea for the first 3-4 days after surgery but as I was only taking in liquids, I figured that was to be expected. I gained 7lbs in water or ?? after surgery but that came off quickly and I am down 16lbs from my pre-op weight. Food has been good, I am sticking to what the Dr & NUT reccomended for menus, liquid-full liq- purees etc and have not come across anything that is not tolerated, yet. I went to a friends for thanksgiving last weekend & even ventured some turkey, mashed potatoes & a couple brussel sprouts. I chewed it all to bits and it went down well Next week will be a huge challenge as I will be driving to Missouri on the 17th. I will be taking a cooler with prepared food with me & lots of protein shakes !

    Paranoid..lol

I think blood thinners is just protocol after any major surgery. I had to give myself shots at home for a week after each of my knee replacements. Better safe than sorry I too went on the liver shrinking diet for 2 weeks prior to surgery, no caloric restrictions & no weight loss needed just the liver thing. Have total confidence in your surgeon or find one that makes you comfortable. Sometimes its just "us" playing headgames & as you say, overthinking it ! Good luck with your decision:)

Pre Op Diet And Physical Labour

Those liquids above were for the 2 weeks, for the 3 days it was all clears, tea, coffee, chicken or beef broth, crystal lite & water. It was hard but I just ket telling myself, its only for 3 days & keep your eyes on the prize !!

Pre Op Diet And Physical Labour

My pre-op diet was mainly liquids due to a high (53.97) BMI. I did get light headed when I was stacking firewood for the winter. I asked the Dr about it & they said to not work so hard during this phase. I am sure if I was eating salad & some protein I would not have had this issue. Each Dr is a little differrent depending on the patient. Have you discussed this with them? My liquids were clear soups, protein shakes, crystal lite, coffee, (black) tea etc. I had no limits on how much or how many I could consume on this phase.

Glad to hear of so many that are doing well. Honey bee, I hope you are doing better & that all your issues have been resolved. I get great inspiration reading about everyones experiences thus far. Thanks for sharing your stories on here
  9. How long will you be on the preop diet for?
  10. It will get easier, I am having the same issues, I m just keeping my eyes on the prize & know that its only for a little while and a month from now we will be progressing in our foods and thinking well that wasn't so bad now !!
  11. Awsome! Congrats on your fabulous progress Go Turtle Go !!

    Geez

Hang in there, I am a believer in "everything happens for a reason" so if its delayed for a week, there is probably a reason & sometimes we just don't get to see the big picture till later
  13. I am 1 1/2 weeks post op, (9/26). I lost 14 lbs on the preop week and was back up 7 when I came home. That went away quickly and now I am down 25 overall I was very fortunate & my surgery & recovery went very smoothly. I am on a combo of sot/puree and walk everyday but its too early for any kind of intense exercise yet. I am absolutely thrilled with my sleeve & am so glad I made the decision to do this. Hope everyone has a great weekend !

    Where are the 50s ???

Hello Fab 50's ! Well its been 9 days since I was sleeved and everything is going great ! My surgery went very well, didn't have enormous gas pains & went off pain meds after the first day. I was down 14 lbs from the prediet but when I got home I was up 7lbs. That must have been a side effect of the surgery cause that was gone in a couple days & I am now down 24lbs overall. I am so happy that I made the decision to do this. Life is beautiful
  15. I only told a few close friends & not my family. I knew what I wanted to do & was very positive about the whole thing & didn't want any negatives prior to having my sleeve done. I was sleeved on the 26th of Sept, and returned home from Tijuana on the 29th. I talked to my brother after I got home & he is like you did what in Tijuana LOL!! I said thats why I didn't say anything prior to going, I only want supportive comments. He is great about it & I also told my son (grown & married) last night & he is fine with it too. I am not afraid of telling anyone, I am proud that I have taken this step to make the rest of my life a healthy one
  16. Just got back & you have nothing to worry about. I travelled from Canada, into the US and then to MX. I was picked up from the San Diego airport & driven to MX to my hotel. The hotel was great & if you are too nervous, you can just hang out in your room till its time to go to the hospital. I had 2 days in the hospital then was returned to the hotel for a day. We went shopping with my coordinator to a little market not far from the hotel & everything was fine. They have been working on the image of Tijuana for the past 7 years & trying to get their tourism jump started again so as said above , go with an open mind, enjoy a little of the culture & you will be fine

    My Trip To Mexico

Sounds like my trip last week The co-ordinators are wonderful & are willing to go out & about with you !! I used a different service & am extremely happy with it too ! Glad you have a successful trip
  18. Great post & outlook! I too have been lucky with no pain & smooth sailing after surgery. I only had mine last Wed 26th and have moved from clears to fulls. Not craving anything at the moment but I contracted a sinus cold from the flight & can't smell or taste anything at the moment which I am sure is a blessing. As with all rules, I take them as a guideline and go with what works best for me. In reading a lot of posts on here, I just stay away from ones with a lot of negativity in them. I have a super positive outlook for this new lifestyle I have chosen and staying positive about my choices is the best route for me.
  19. New here to the forum. I am having my surgery in Mexico this month. Anyone else scheduled then? I will be at Nova Hospital.
