Feel better soon ! Just start from where you are at when you arrive home from the hospital. You will no doubt gain Water weight from all the IV fluids but it will come off quickly. Just follow Dr's orders & you will be back as good as before in no time !!

Hey Fifties, How is eveybody doing during this early part of Dec? I found I could tolerate being around the office goodies that have been appearing nonstop withough wanting anything... untill someone brought in Hershey's Candy Cane Kisses..... my all time fave this time of year. Broke down and had a serving of them . Now I did it I am no longer wanting any more. Hope they don't make a reapperance tho !

What Was That? Leak Scare.
Cinders replied to Mike Cook's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did you eat/have something in your stomach before you took the allopurinal? It is never good to take meds on an empty sleeve. Might just have been a reaction to the meds. -
Just FYI, I add the vanilla protein liquid.

COngrats on your successes so far !! The best is yet to come -
Instead of milk, I make it with water in the microwave & then pour a little of my atkins vanilla protein drink on it. Adds flavour & a little sweetness.

OK, um, I am 53, I had my last TOM in Feb this year. I thought maybe I was done, its been 9 months and this morning... there it was, laughing at me!! Does surgery affect this? I don't know how menopause works and just thought I was done!! Any insight on this?? I was pretty darm happy to NOT have it LOL!!!

[ OMG, you cracked me up! I agree, I think I am too LOL! I was always under the impression that you were born with only so many eggs and once they were gone that was it. I went through IVF twice (with no success) and from my body being pushed into super-ovulation twice, I just assumed I would go through it sooner as I had "used up" extra eggs ! Will be seeing the Dr this week & will request some bloodwork

Thanks for the replies ladies. I guess I was so hopeful that I was done but maybe not so it seems. Maybe 1 a year, I could live with that but probably not gonna be like that, time will tell ! hehehe... just wishful thinking LOL!!

How Many Nights Were You In The Hospital?
Cinders replied to crickee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
2 nights also. !st day after surgery, I was making the most of walking up & down the halls & that left me exhausted & able to sleep a lot. 2nd day, more awake but felt really tired after very little activity. Yeah I woke up when they came in but was so tired I found it easy to get back to sleep -

I, like many have high blood pressure, controlled by meds. On friday I woke at 4am & had to go potty.I walked out the bedroom door & got a huge dizzy spell (I have been getting them for the past couple weeks) I bent over to lower my head for a minute & when I stood up, I just kept going over backwards, blacking out. I remember hitting my head on the door frame, after that I also managed to hit my shoulder, knee, and twist my mid-back. I hit the floor and regained conciousness right away with my dogs licking my face! What a shocker ! I went to the Dr's later that day & told him what had been happening with the dizziness & the fainting that morning. He checked my BP and it was low, so he took me off one of the meds (YIPEE!) and told me to monitor myself. So a very slight concussion, bruised shoulder, knee( don't really want to damage the artificial knees !!) and a sore back, it is great to be off one of my medds but what a way to find out! SO Sat, I stopped the 1 med & lter in the afternoon, went to town for a few things. While I was shopping I got the dizzy spells again. I went & sat for a while but they kept coming back so I finished up with 1/2 of what I went for & headed home. I was wondering if you have had your BP meds reduced does it takes a while for it to get out of your system? Sorry for the long post, just wanted to explain it properly

Ahhh day 7 of my first stall ! I would normally be worried about it but from reading post on this forum, I know it happens and to just keep moving ahead , 1 day at a time. Thanks to all who are sharing their experiences on here, its very helpful & comforting to know that I am anot "really" going this alone

I third that, 6 week stall has hit ! I have read on here that it happens a lot. We need to stay positive & keep doing what we are doing. It's just our bodies adjusting to all the changes we have put it through in the past few weeks ! Stay strong ladies, this too will pass

Don't Let The Scale Get You Down!
Cinders replied to Donny's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I agreee, great attitude, I wish I could get my thinking around to be like that. I am still a scale addict unfortunately. BUT, I am down to once a day instead of everytime I walked into the bathroom like before. Keep up the good work Donny !! -
