You guys are going to do great. I am also 8 days out and can't tell I've had any surgery....well except I am constantly full. Everything is back to normal and I feel great. I agree with Marcy, the emotional side is the hardest. Once surgery is over everything fads away. I am excited for all of you.

FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved
JackieV replied to DivaNurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was also sleeved on the 4th. I haven't weighed in a few days but I was around 29 pounds lost ( pre and post op). Feeling okay physically, I over did it today and am paying for it. On the bright side my kitchen is spotless. Look forward to keeping up with everyone. -
Good luck today Lisa, I'll be keeping you in my prayers for an uneventful surgery today.

I've told anyone who wants to know. Here is my reason. I met a woman locally who I thought was pretty great. She is smart, funny and of course beautiful. After talking a few times I got to know she had bypass surgery a few years before I met her. I would never had known if it wasn't for her being open and also having a special FB folder dedicated to her journey. I credit me having surgery to her. We have a lot of things in common as far as being military spouses, small kids and a few other things. She was the constant reminder that I could take action and change my life. If it wasn't for her and her honestly I wouldn't have thought twice about surgery. She may never know but by her being open about it, it changed my life. I would love to be able to do the same for someone else.

I honestly didnt think I would commit to the sleeve. It's not in my personality to do something so permanent. Somehow it changed as my boys started to grow up and I was on the sidelines. They are 2 and 3 and already I was missing too much. I've dieted my entire life, it was time to finally do something that was permanent and that would last. It was scary, I was terrified but I went through with it. It's been one of the best things I've done for myself. My surgery was Monday and I feel great. There was some pain but as of today I am 95% back to normal. Even in the peak of my surgery pain, I never had a regret. I wish I never hesitated and went full force.

I wanted to update everyone again. Surgery was on Monday, I went home Wednesday and today I feel 95% back to normal. The sleeve is amazing. I have no issues with fluids or protein drinks, my taste didn't change. I can eat about 3 oz of yogurt, pudding, jello and it's equal to 3 trips to a buffet, stuffed. ( these are on my full liquid diet). The only pain is from my larger incision and that is almost gone. I've been able to walk 1/2-1 mile since Thursday. I was so scared after reading a lot of stories on this site and there is nothing to worry about. Have faith, and follow Dr orders and you will do great.

I started to throw up a few times after surgery. It was 100% from the pain pump, they didnt want me to get sick but said I was fine. They are very quick to give anti nausea meds.

I wouldn't say it hurts, it's a very weird feeling. I feel like I flopped like a fish when they took mine out. It was over quickly and I have zero pain from that site. You will be great!!!

I woke up when they were wheeling me into recovery. Honestly I could care less. I put my head down and went back to sleep for a few hours. I remember being moved to my room but didnt care then either. I had surgery Monday and didnt really start to full wake up until Wednesday. I was up and walking Tuesday but slept a lot too. You will have nothing to worry about. I was terrified of remembering the OR but they drugged me up pretty good. I remember going in, moving to the table, joking with a doctor and waking up on the way to recovery. It was easy peasy. I wish I didn't worry so much before hand.

I'm not sure if I updated, I got home last night. The only pain I have is from my big incision. It's about 2-2.5 inches. The rest are teeny tiny. My drain site feels fine too. I can take a shower in another few hours. So far I've had 6oz of protein shake and 10oz of water. Right now I physically can't do anymore. I will try again after my nap. I get tired pretty quickly. So far today I have been off pain meds. I realized pretty quickly that most of my hospital issues were caused from the morphine pump. Please be diligent and aware if you get sick shortly after. My nurses kept trying to get me to hit the pump and it was almost instant vomiting. Not fun when you are hours post op. The crazy thing is I don't feel anything different. The only reason I can tell I had surgery is the large incision site. Everything else is great. I didn't have a lot of gas pains. I never expressed it from the bottom, always up and out. Good luck to the rest of the sleevers and I will be keeping everyone in my prayers for a quick recovery.

I have my report time in less than an hour. I can't believe I am really doing this. I'd appreciate any prayers or good vibes you can send my way. I am such a nervous wreck. Bla bla bla, I can't wait to be on the flip side. Thank you to everyone who has helped me get to this place. There is a lot of great advice here and I appreciate it.

I will be going home tonight or tomorrow morning. I had some hunger and they brought me a tray of liquids , I had broth, maybe 1/5 cup but my stomach thinks we ate at a buffet. So full . So far liquids are staying, I have 2 oz an hour.

As of right now, I am pain free. A little sore but that's about it. I couldn't be happier.

Feb 4th Surgery :)
JackieV replied to AdeptDreamer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was also sleeved on Monday and I can't stop going to the little girls room. I had a good amount of discomfort but I feel good now. Minimal gas pains. The worse part was getting in and out of bed. I am up to two oz of water per hour. They also brought me a tray of food but I didn't want it.... My surgeon jut came in and said everything looked great. They will be removing the IV soon and I will be on full liquids once I leave. -
Day 3 post op and I am feeling a lot better. Still very sore but better than I expected. Even at the worst I do not regret having this surgery. Stay stong, walk as much as you can, bring Chapstick, small pillow. And be ready for an awesome nap.

So far it's been good. I was hopeful to be one of the lucky few who don't have pain. Not my case, the morphine makes me sick and throw up so we had to switch. I am loaded on anti nausea meds still. Right now feels a lot better then this morning. They said I can go home tomorrow. I hope i feel a lot better by then. Biggest thing is, I have a lot of pain and don't doubt or regret the surgery one but.
-
So far so good in recovery. The pain is defiantly there. The morphine makes me throw up they just switched it to another drug. Overall I have no regrets. I am ready to get better and feel like myself again. I'd bring a small pillow. It's been my life saver.

I did it. I am on the other side. So far so good. Can't wait for the rest of the group to join me on the bench.

Thank you everyone. Surgery went well. My mouth is super dry and I am on a boatload of anti-nausea meds. Other than that I feel awesome. Okay, maybe not awesome but a lot better then what I was expecting.

It's here, I report in less than an hour. So nervous but at the same time I am ready.
