  1. Morning my favorite month of sleevers. Back to work this morning. 2 weeks post op and feeling pretty good. I woke up a little worse today, I am guess it's a combo of not enough fluids and going back to work. Starting today I plan to only track my weight weekly. 5'6 ( on a good day) Starting weight: 315 (316 highest) Surgery- 294 2 weeks-279 I've slowed the last 3-4 days but I've increased my fluids a lot. I have no doubts I was/am dehydrated.

Finally Pregnant & 6 mo post

Every pregnancy is different. My sister had something similar and carried to term, I on the other had lost the pregnancy. Keep following up with your doctor and try not to stress about it. This is out of your control. I will be praying for your little guy.

    Ever in the clear.

I agree with OTR. One thing that has stuck with me is a story on here of a woman a year out. She ended up with a slow leak that infected her lungs. ( sorry I can't remember her name) I would say while 6 weeks is in the clear also be very diligent to how you are feeling for the next few years. Don't dismiss any odd symptoms, it's always better to be safe and get checked out.

    What to Wear there ?

I wore yoga pants and a loose shirt. The first thing I did once the catheter was removed was put my pants on. They had to do a lot with my stomach so I left the gown on. I really didnt want drain juice on my tank top. I also brought a robe, I was up and walking with the catheter so the robe saved my butt.

    Constipation

Oh man, I feel you on this. I went through about three days of hell. I started upping my fluids and taking 2 stool softeners a day. It finally happened. It actually took 3 or 4 times for it to finally be over. ( this lasted over those days) try not to strain. Since this happened I've been taking those fiber tabs ( surgar free). I went yesterday with no issues. Then a few hours later I went again but it was very loose. ( a nice change). I will be adjusting how much fiber I take until I can find a good middle ground.
  6. I am 13 days out, 35lbs down and cleared for a normal diet with lots of chewing. Besides restriction there is no change in my food tolerances. I have another 120 pounds to my ultimate goal and wanted to know if any vets have some tips for success. I don't want to waste this gift I have been given. My main goals right now are 60g protein and 64oz fluids. I wasn't given any special diet to follow other than to eat high protein. Right now I am walking about a mile 4-5 times a week and plan to up that to daily. Slowly adding distance. My dr said I won't be cleared for working out until 4-6 weeks. Thank you in advance

    How long until "real" food?

I am 13 days out and already cleared for regular foods. ( I have to over chew). So far I've had zero issues with my sleeve. Seems to like everything. The only things it kinda acted funny on was jello, pudding. I don't eat these things regularly so it's a non issue.
  8. Yes, but for the opposite reason. I will never eat a super ginormous real meal again. I am perfectly content eating a small meal. There is zero hunger. A few oz and I feel like I've eaten the entire kitchen. Personally that's a victory. "Real" meals got me up to 315lbs.
  9. Hi, I am post op and have been cleared for a regular diet. I've lost 20% of my excess weight pretty quickly so my Dr. doesn't have any special guidelines for me. I have been having a hard time with protein drinks, I can't seem to finish any of them. ( taste wise) and I'd prefer to get my protein from food. Does anyone use beef jerky as a source of protein ? I tried a small piece when my husband was eating it and I had no issues with it. I know I'd have to watch carbs/ sugar but for 100 calories and 17g protein I thought it would be a good substitute. I would be interested in if anyone else uses it or has had a adverse reaction to it with the sleeve. ** I will also want to watch sodium Thank you in advance
  10. Great idea. I've been toying around with going the last few days. Glad to hear you are feeling well.

    Where Is Everyone From?

Hi Doreyrae, I am currently in Biloxi
  12. I didn't have any gas pains but my boss swears by heating pads. She said it would almost instantly remove the gas pains. She would use one on each shoulder.

    Beef jerky?

Thanks everyone. I will defiantly look into turkey jerky as well.
  15. I took two weeks off. I could have gone back after a week but my parents are in town and we wanted to show them around.
  16. Did you get ahold of the doctor? I hope you start feeling better.
  17. Just had my first follow up appointment. I've lost 20% of my excess weight and I've been cleared for a regular diet. The only stipulation is I have to over chew everything.
  18. I did and it made me very sick. Within minutes I would be trying to vomit. They switched it out with something else and I had no issues.
  19. I am feeling better everyday. I just wanted to give a heads up to everyone: stay on your stool softeners or miralax. Going into TMI, I had gone small tiny amounts a couple times since surgery, at one point I thought the "water" time cleaned me out. Today I had/have the mother of all constipation. No joke, hours, Some relief but I know the job isn't finished yet. Even if you think you are okay, take it as a precaution. I will never go a day without it again.
