    Girdle after surgery?

I am going to start wearing my spanx for the same reason.
  2. Tonight I've decided to give myself some tough love. As most of you know I was given clearance for a normal well chewed diet at 10days out. Since then my fluids and protein have tanked. Starting tomorrow I am going back to the basics. I don't want to take any chances with my sleeve and will be going back to full liquids with one mushy meal at night. The little amount of food I can eat isn't worth the risk of not getting enough protein.

    Food progression post op

I thought I would have a normal progression but on my post op ( 10 days) my surgeon told me I could go to a normal diet. ( chewing well) he said since I had the sleeve vs bypass I wouldn't need to do the soft/mushy stage.
  5. I am 16 days post op and haven't lost anything in about 5 days, today I gained about .5 pound. I know this isn't a true stall but I was wondering if anyone has hit this wall so soon. So far I've done awesome and I am happy with it but I feel like I am failing already. I am busting my butt to get fluids and protein in, but find it almost impossible to hit them daily. I am also cleared for food and can eat about an oz at a meal. Most of the time it's a meat or a cheese stick ( for the protein). But I am really focusing on fluids over real food. I've also had a bad allergic reaction to the adhesive they used, so I am not sure if that is playing a role. I plan to keep up with increasing fluids/ protein as well as increase my walking. ( currently a mile 4-5 days a week) Is this normal? Did I hit the dreaded three week stall early? Thanks in advance
  6. I love Greek yogurt. I've been trying to get in as much as I can but the last few days my sleeve decided it was a no go.
  7. I use the weight watchers cheese sticks. They had the lowest fat/calories with the most Protein. I originally thought I would try to use beef/turkey Jerky as a way to get in extra protein but decided against it because of the sodium.

    Post-op questions

I lost 15 in about 11 days. The scale hasn't moved in the last 4.
  9. I wish I did have a prep. Instead I dealt with 3 days of horrible constipation. The waste was still in my body and the drugs made it very hard and impacted. It was hell. Next time I have a surgery I will do a prep regardless if its required.

To date or not to date?

Are you capable of dating with little emotion? If so go for it. I dated a lot in my early twenties and knew going into that I wasn't looking or marriage or a long term relationship. I was looking to go out and have fun. It was one of the best times of my life. Focus on yourself. If you want to have fun with him go for it. However if you are the type to become instantly attached I would go very slow. I dated a best friend situation before my crazy dating days, and your story reminded me of it. He would do these huge things to get my attention, when something better came along we'd break up and a few months later he would be back. Even more over the top then the last time. I finally had enough, we broke up and that week he was with someone else( who he married). I was an easy fall back. Don't let yourself be a fall back, don't worry about the best friend thing. From experience I never talked to my "best friend" again after the break up and I am thankful for it.
  11. I've heard it before and thought it myself. ( before researching) Maybe it is an easier way for some, maybe it isn't. I don't pay attention to it. I had surgery to finally be healthy, not to worry about what other people think. Be confident in your decision and you don't need to answer to anyone.
  12. This made me giggle. I had surgery at a military hospital and I think my post op diet has been the post lax I've seen. I am thankful for that.
  13. Walk as much as you feel up to it. My parents were in town for my surgery and we wanted to how them around. By a week out we were walking all over. 9 days post op we went to NOLA and walked all over downtown and the French Quarter. Each day will get easier and easier. The day I got home from the hospital I could only go about a half mile but it does get better.
  14. Yes, I was told to go to the ER last night for a possible infection. Turns out I have a pretty good allergic reaction to the bonding glue. I would ask your surgeon before you treat it. I've been using cream and it's getting better.
  15. It was a weird feeling. I feel like I flopped like a fish out of water. By far the weirdest feeling I had in this entire experience. It was over in a few seconds and I had no pain.
  16. Looks like I might be in the clear. They are thinking it's an allergic reaction to the bonding stuff they use.
  17. Lame, after my awesome experience I am at the ER with a possible incision infection.
  18. I just want to post how much I love my sleeve. I finished lunch at work. one weight watchers cheese stick. I am STUFFED. It's truly amazing.
  19. It's the fluids, I gained while in the hospital. I don't remember exactly how much but I do remember it. You are going to do amazing.

    Constipation

I switched from gummies to the fiber choice sugar free tabs. They work great. Taste like the chewy sweet tarts. I've been toying around with what will work and was really worried leading up to the last movement. Everything was perfect. ( a nice change from the beast last week). I am sticking with 2 tabs during the day.
