Thank y'all!! I really appreciate that!! I need to lose 80 more pounds then I'll be at my goal weight. I'm not going to say it hasn't been a huge challenge and I'm not going to tell you I haven't failed miserably several times, but I will tell you I keep getting back on that roller coaster ride is all that matters.. -
Phentermine after Surgery
Angie was Sleeved 08/31/12 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think I may be the only one on here that has the balls to admit I am currently taking Phentermine after WLS. I was sleeved on August 31, 2012 and have lost 60lbs. I got very discouraged in my weight loss venture. I am human and give in to temptation just like most of us do. My weakness is Mr Pibb. I know it's a horrible thing and I'd lose way more if I'd stop drinking 2 sodas a day. Which is a huge improvement from about 2 -2 liters a day before surgery. I don't need anyone preaching to me what I already know. I have a hard time drinking Water and yes I've put everything known to man in it to make it more desirable, but no luck. I can go 12 plus hours with out drinking a drop of anything. My Dr says I have water weight gain and has put me on the Phentermine to make me thirsty and to help with the water weight. Phentermine isn't a quick fix and I still have lots of weight to lose, but it has helped me get over the depression I have felt for quite sometime about the weight not coming off. I lost 10lbs on it and I am way thirsty. He only prescribed it a month and I'm glad he did. I have found that if I actually get out and walk around for a little while I start to notice more energy. I also have learned to pre-weigh and pre-pack my lunches and dinners for the week. This is a huge life changing journey and man what a roller coaster ride it has been. I'm sure most of you are appalled about the phentermine after surgery, but some of us need that little extra boost to help us get through hard times. Especially when there is no support and a strong ear would be nice to have for thoughts and wonders. So before you are quick to judge me, remember we are all human and no-one on this earth is perfect. -

Water Drinking Question
Angie was Sleeved 08/31/12 replied to Goodgonebad's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm these way.. I can take big gulps of only water but once I do, I'm full forever!! -
I had my sleeve 8/31/12 and I've lost 25lbs. I had a bad infection in my left side incision that just healed up. I get discouraged at times when I see folks losing a massive and I'm still struggling. I get my protein (well most of it) and I have a hard time with drinking all that water. I have started walking 2 miles. Just keeping my eye on the prose!! 320-263 is better than only 10lbs.I guess...

No I don't drink them like I should, but I do eat my meats and beef jerky! I know I'm bad and it's hard enough to get water down... Is it normal to be full after breakfast all day? I feel like I could get sick if I drink to much, why I can't drink thick shake... -

Can anyone tell me the difference between wontons and pasta. I have seen some very yummy recipes using wontons instead of pasta. Are they a form of bread?

I had my gastric sleeve surgery 8/31/12 by Dr Frenzel. His doctors office went out of their way to help accommodate me and my insurance, which I know was very time consuming and exhausting. They are trully a Wonderful group of people that tells ya straight, no sugar coating things. The nurses and the staff at Forest Park Medical Center went above and beyond to make sure I was very comfortable, and believe me, I was a huge brat! I give them hands down 5 stars!! Thank you Dr.Frenzel!!!! Angie

8/31/12 Sleever
Angie was Sleeved 08/31/12 replied to Angie was Sleeved 08/31/12's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I love my sleeve, it's difficult to learn new ways to eat better and takes time to prepare meals but well worth it. I'm not saying its an easy ride, cause there are days I'm nauseous and don't feel like doing anything. Those are the days I put on my tennis shoes and go for a walk, the more you walk the better you heal. My BMI was 56. I weighed 320 before surgery and 3 weeks out I weigh 271.8. I feel the sleeve is a more permanent and makes you change your lifestyle. The band is a great surgery too, but it's easily taken out and can always put more refills in and out of the pouch. With the sleeve your stomach is 3-4oz all the time, no going back.. Unless you don't do right and eat your stomach large again. I was going to do the bypass but at the last minute chose the sleeve and I couldn't have made a better choice.... In my own personal opinion, that suits my needs and personal life of course!! Always remember you have to want to change your lifestyle, like me, I have a daughter I was missing out on growing up cause I was over weight and couldn't keep up. You only live once and live for you and your children. Make your own choices and live your own life.... My thoughts are, you never know when tomorrow could be your last...... -
Deep Scabs...
Angie was Sleeved 08/31/12 replied to Angie was Sleeved 08/31/12's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had the tape too but once it fell off, they started scabbing and I wanted to just wash it really good and pull it....grrrr When the tape came off I could tell it wasn't healed well, so wondering if I pull them off if it will look the same or have healed more?? -
Sleeved 8/31 Some of my inscisions are healed closed and the others still have huge scabs in them. To top it all off I have one stitch that's annoying the crap out of me... Any suggestion?? Should I pull out the scabs or leave them? What about my arch enemy the evil stitch? Angie
