I got called by a local casting office for the 1st run of Biggest Loser. I am basically a private person, I didnt go for the audition. Plus there was no way I could leave my job and kids for 10 weeks. My older daughter did a phone audition for the 2nd run. Is that the one they are still casting. My daughter auditioned months ago. I wish anyone who gives it a try the best wishes. It just wasnt my thing. Patty

Big T, I hope you are better today. It's hard enough to be sick, let alone sick and recovering from surgery. Sending you lots of well wishes for an easier day!!!! Patty

I had gas pains earlier today in my left shoulder. I am so glad to see I am not the only one. I am 7 days post surgery, so I guess they will be here for a couple more weeks. Patty

I have mitral valve prolapse. It was discovered a couple of years ago when I was planning on having the gastric bypass done. I guess its pretty common in women. I have to take ammoxillian before I go to the dentist, but that's the only thing I have to do for it. (plus see the cardiologist every 6 months). Patty

Best wishes!!! I was a week away from a gastric bypass 2 years ago and they noticed I had mitral valve regurgatation (heart murmer). They postponed my surgery and then for personal reasons I canceled the gastric bypass. I got my band 5 days ago. I couldnt be happier!!!! Things happen for a reason. You will be in my prayers. Patty

Zoe, Thanks for taking the time out to post. It was great reading about your experience. I have been banded 5 days now. My belly is in the yellow bruise faze. It looks so yucky. I love to read others stories. I was very fortunate, my ins covered surgery and I only had to drive 15 miles to have it. It took 3 months from my 1st appt to surgery day, but I really feel that I was prepared. My surgery was on last Monday and I plan on returning to work this Monday. I think I will be ready. I am a manager of a dept, if it is too much for me I can work 1/2 days. I plan on taking one day at a time. Thanks again for your post. Patty -
I drove my daughter to school today, then I headed to walmart for extra strength liquid tylenol. I wound up talking to people there for about 1/2 hour. It was my 1st "field trip". I feel pretty good. Didnt take a perc this am. Just tylenol. It does get better every day!!! Patty

Thanks to everybody for their support. As you know I got my band on Monday. How long before I can stand up without pain. You should see me shimmy to get off the couch. It's a pretty comical sight. I know everyone is different but I was wondering when this pain will go away. (It doesnt hurt when I sit, only when I getup). Thanks everyone!! Patty

Well, I had my lap-band surgery. My surgery was with Dr Tarnoff at Tufts-New England Medical Center. I feel pretty good. My surgery was at 8:30 am and I got home around 5 pm. My belly is sore, feels like I ahve been punched about 200 times in the stomach.....I had some tea and broth before I left the hospital More broth when I got home. Today I had about 2 tbs of yogurt with my pain meds mixed in it and a sugar free popsicle and a little Water. So far so good. I live about 15 miles south of Boston and we got 10 inches of snow last night, so I guess I will just hang in the house for today. Patty

I feel pretty good. My stomach hurts when I stand up, but I think that might be getting better too. I keep walking around in circles, I have a really small house, its way to icy for me to venture walking outside. I would never be able to get up if I fall!! Patty

They gave me percocet, they make me really groggy. I got some Adult liquid tylenol yesterday, that helps. I will use a pillow getting up. Thanks for the tips!!!!!!! Patty
-
Welcome home!!! I am glad to hear that all went well. The only time it hurts for me is when I stand up. I got glued together too. I gained a couple of lbs, but they are already gone. I have been living on sugar free popsicles and crystal lite. Patty

Yes, Karen, I meant the lap incisions. I had my gall bladder out lap about 10 years ago and those scars cleared up nice, I am sure these will too. Patty
