    Beans

You can just get a bowl of black beans on the side, with or without rice. It's part of the new menu. Plus the people should have no problem modifying stuff to fit your diet. I work for taco Bell and we have no problem giving people a little bowl of chicken and beans for surgery patients.

    Missing My Hot Sauce

I don't have a date yet, I'm hoping for a late January surgery. I have my EGD mid December and then I have to wait for insurance approval!

Ok May Be A Tad Personal

That doesn't sound too bad, but you could start taking s fiber supplement to keep things moving. Also get some mirilax or any natural non stimulant laxative to take if you haven't gone after the 3 or 4 days

    Missing My Hot Sauce

I love this site! Just earlier my friend asked me 'what are you going to do without your Franks after surgery?' and then I log on and someone's already talking about it! My name is Michelle and I'm a hot sauce addict

    Watermelon

Definitely throw some unflavoured protein in it, so that at least your body can get some protein even if you can't handle much else. I haven't had surgery yet, but I've bought some chicken soup flavored Unjury, and there are a lot of good reviews about it. Maybe your stomach might be able to handle something warm?

    Hypothyroid And Getting The Sleeve

Your story is exactly like mine! My name is Michelle too.. Are you me?! I'm also wondering what life with hypo is like after surgery.

    Too Early?

I would think thinned out mashed potatoes would be ok as long as you don't overeat
  9. If you can get someone to help with that 50lb bag. Maybe pay someone to do it? You really don't want to mess that up on a boat like that. You'll have a weight limit for at least the first 6 weeks, mine will be under 20 pounds

    Time Limit?

I apologize if this is a dumb question, but is there a time limit after the insurance approves you that you have to get the surgery?

    Time Limit?

    Wow, that's a long time!
  12. I'm about an hour away from Kansas City. I'll be getting my surgery at kc bariatrics

    Caffiene

Not always true. Most orange sodas, Fanta flavors like strawberry and grape, root beers and of course the 7up/sprites are caffeine free

    5 Confessions (Join In)

I confess that after more than a year of waiting for my insurance to approve, when they finally do (late December) I won't be able to pay the co pay that I'll owe before surgery. I confess that my credit isn't so good and I'll probably never get approved for a loan to pay it. Money is so tight at the moment, I'm afraid I'll get approved and then by the time I come up with the money it'll expire or something and I'll have to start all over
  15. I haven't had surgery to yet, but I found out in my pre op class that I'll have to do this. I'm kinda like worried I won't be able to work up the nerve to do it!

Federal Blue Cross And Plastic Surgery

That's awesome! I found out today that aetna covers the panni surgery too. It's good to know we'll be covered when we need it
  17. I always use a paper towel to get rid of my hiccups. Sounds weird but it's worked for everyone I've made try it. Put a regular paper towel over a glass of water. Start drinking the water through the paper towel. Keep sipping until your hiccups stop. For me it's usually only 2 or 3 sips

    Not Fair

I know it's frustrating, but give it a few days. They pump you so full of fluids while you're in the hospital. I had a different surgery and gained 18 pounds from fluid, my ankles and fingers were huge. 2 days later it was gone. Try not to stress about it!
