    Sleeved 12/12

Congrats on the 11 pounds! Are you mixing your shakes with water or milk? Some people become lactose intolerant right after surgery

    Anyone on here in Kansas?

LOL I told my friend that he was a hottie, she looked at his picture on the website and wasn't impressed. Then when I had my Egd and she saw him in person she was jealous! My last dietician appointment and egd was last week, so they just need to gather it all up and send it away to my insurance. I should have close to 100 % coverage

Dr Hoehn is my doctor! I'm waiting for insurance to approve, so I'm hoping for an end of Jan date. When did you have yours?

    Anyone on here in Kansas?

I'm not too far away from Kansas City. I should be getting my surgery through KC bariatric
  5. Of course you should talk to your doctor about it. My doctor said I could take it within the first week, his diet moves to full liquids by day 3 and mushy by day 7. He's seen a lot of backed up patients, and getting that cleared out in a hospital is painful and no fun for anyone (poor nurses!)

    ..

I had my egd yesterday, and today my throat hurt like a mofo! I drank a lot of hot tea and a little hot chocolate and it feels pretty good now
  7. The Miralax label says it can take a day to work, but the thing about you being post op is that you haven't had food for a while, so you may not have anything in your system. You can take a little every day to keep things moving, but until you start full liquids, etc then nothing might happen for you. I've read on here about people not going for weeks. You can take a little laxative for peace of mind, but I wouldn't worry too much at 3 days out
  8. Mirilax! Anything that's a natural laxative should also do the trick.

    Egd

It was definitely interesting. If I could have my surgery awake though, I would!

    Egd

Just had my egd and it was the easiest thing ever! The only weird thing is that I was aware the whole time. I got to see my stomach on the monitor, that was pretty cool. So if you're having yours soon, don't worry, it's a piece of cake!

    Egd

They gave me the meds and I was feeling a little drunk-ish, and they wheeled me in and gave me the thing to bite on. They did a few more things and came back and said are you still awake? My arms were heavy feeling and I couldn't lift them to move that mouth thing, but I was able to mumble a little. The doctor said I was sedated enough to start and I got to watch the whole thing on the monitors. When I was in recovery I was talking to the nurse about it and she said it wasn't usual to have the patient awake but they had more medicine ready in case I panicked
  12. The hardest part for me will be coming up with the 500 for my out of pocket thing before surgery. Hello early tax return!
  13. I finished my 3 month nutrition stuff, I have an egd next week and then it gets sent off for approval!

Lower Upper Back / Maybe Lung Pain?

I would call a 24 hour nurse line or go see a doctor. It would make you feel better to know it's not something serious

    Pcos/period Advice!

I had very heavy periods with my pcos, and after several months of super heavy periods i ended up needing a blood transfusion and 6 months of weekly iron transfusions after that. I had seen my doctor and told them that I was weak and dizzy and they just told me to take a multi vitamin. If you think you are bleeding too much then demand a CBC to check your levels. I was told that if you are going through a pad or tampon in an hour, then it's too heavy. I was so miserable before and after dealing with those transfusions, so don't take no for an answer.

Lower Upper Back / Maybe Lung Pain?

I've heard people having gas pains in that area. Are you having any trouble breathing at all? If you have any shortness of breath or dizziness, go straight to the ER

    Pre Workout....powders Or Food?

I'm part of this group on Facebook, and some of the people there swear on this powder drink called body effects. There's a lot of koolaid type flavors. One of them used it before all her training sessions for marathon training, and some people also use it like an energy drink. http://supplementreviews.com/power-performance/body-effects

    Psychological Evaluation

Mine was super fast. I had to pay 300 for the doctor to ask me about the surgery. He asked me what they do and what recovery would be like. No personal questions at all

    Loose Skin

http://www.thecrunchychicken.com/2011/01/detox-dry-skin-brushing.html?m=1 A lot of people swear up and down that this works. I'm still pre op and I've already started. I figure if it works, great and if not then at least my skin looks great! My skin is much softer than it was before

    Help With Protein

I am also allergic to nuts, and I had no problems with all the samples I've been trying. I didn't know till I read your post! I tried both chocolates, the strawberry and the chicken one with no reaction. Maybe I'm not as sensitive as some other people though... Who knows
