Ok, Im back, I just cant seem to get into this and I really need to cause I have no support. I guess it is just hard for me to go and meet new people, kinda puts me out of my comfort zone. I have lost a good amount my first year but would have liked to lost more. I just found out that I am pregnant, so my band will have to be totally loosend but I need to continue to eat healthy, which I have kinda fallen out of doing. I know that there are a few of you that live in the lakewood-tacoma area, so I would like to start to get to know some of you and go to support groups. This is really hard for me but I know I really need it.

    Port site infection

I had my surgery almost a year ago and I remember mine looking the same as in the picture, I never got on antibiotics and it went away about 2 weeks later. I just thought it was from the tape they put on. Never had any problems since then. I hope all your gets better soon.

    Maybe To-Be Bander [hopefully] QUESTION!

I dont know were to start??? Your 17 and weigh 240lbs, You need to think about how much more you could weigh in a couple years from now, Think about how much more uncomfortable you will be, how much harder it will be to find clothes that fit and are trendy and If you dont have health problems now you will soon. If you have the chance to have this operation you should go for it. my biggest incision is 1 1/2 inches and are nothing compared to all my stretch marks. You know when I was 17 I weighed 220 and was having a baby, my baby is now 8 1/2, she is very athletic and has no weight problems, cause I wont allow it. It's hard for me to just stand on the sidelines when she is playin soccor or just wants to be chased around at the park, I want to help her practice soccer and I want to chase her. Now that I got the band I will be able to do those things with time. But I wish I could have started along time ago. SO WHAT IM TRYIN TO SAY IS YOU NEED TO THINK ABOUT YOUR FUTURE, dont let little things like scares and ports discouage you. You worth having a life. I wish you luck and would love to know what you choose. Sincerely, Emily

    uncomfortable and red

I've been banded for 9 days. Yesterday I woke-up and around my incisions is all red and swollen, it looks like celulitus. So I went to the ER and the Doc there didn't even know what the lapband was he said I guess you have and infection, gave me meds and sent me on my way. Has anyone had this problem? or knows what it is?
