Two weeks from Plastics - progress so far

Jane, I have been following your story. Thank you for sharing it. I have so much admiration for you. I have to say I'm on the fence on whether or not to have plastics. My stats are very similar to yours. I'm a teacher and I teach summer school in June so I would basically have July to have surgery and recover. I'm unsure whether I have it in me to go through a tough recovery. I'm not sure whether I will feel well enough to teach young children after that. Any advice? -

You look great! -
We don't have a Chik-fil-A or Boston Market anywhere close.

I order a grilled chicken sandwich and eat the chicken only. I usually only eat 1/2 before I am full.

I love chips! I know that I can't have them in the house at all. If my hubby or boys(18 & 20) want them they have to hide them and keep them out of my sight.

My doctor allows soda in moderation as long my sleeve can tolerate it. I didn't have any for the first 9 months. Now at a year out I will have one once in awhile. I prefer the fountain soda as it seems to have less carbonation.

I tried it using sugar free cheesecake flavored pudding. It was also delicious.

Thank you for the suggestion. Sometimes I crave salty and crunchy!

Preopper question about Metformin - did you keep taking it?
abby01 replied to McButterpants's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I stopped taking Metformin the day before surgery and haven't taken it since. I'm one year out. I do still take my spironolactone. I could stop taking it and may after my next dr visit. -
