What insurance do you have? If you already know the parameters you need to stay within, then just keep an eye on yourself. A good idea would be to call your insurance and see what their policies are. they should be more than willing to share that with you.

Hello from Corpus Christi, Texas!! As far as the password issue, I am the moderator of a group and no one can figure out how to set or find a password that seems to be required when using the app version of VST...I pm'd an administrator to see if they could offer any assitance...if I find anything out, I will pass it on!!! would love to hear from any sleevers in the South Texas area!!!

I don't like it when people are mean to me, and I don't like to be mean to other people...however, different approaches work for different people when it comes to asking for advice or support on this type of public forum. Some people respond to sugar coating, some people respond to a swift kick in the pants. If you read something that does not suit you, you are not under any obligation to agree with it or take it to heart. I'm using Dr. Dean McDaniel. He did my freinds gastric bypass and she was really happy with him...so far he has been great and I really like him. I know Dr. Patel does his surgery out of San Antonio and Dr. McDaniel does his out of Victoria. I also have a friend that got the lapband from Dr.Patel and she was really happy with him as well. I guess it's really just a toss up, but I know that I really like Dr. McDaniel and he makes me feel really comfortable.

Iggy, your honesty is appreciated by many! You have real experience with the worst that this surgery has to offer through no fault of your own...people just close their ears to things they don't want to hear (even though they may need to hear these things) there is a time and a place hand holding and coddling, but when people are riding a dangerous line with their health because of less than intelligent choices the kid gloves have to come off. Reality check!! I have already said it and I will say it again...we need to take some personal responisbility for what we put in our mouths!! Not doing so is what has put us all in the throes of obesity! If we mess up ( and most of us will) we just need to be honest with ourselves, give ourselves a swift kick in the pants and try again... Iggy I think you may be me sleeve hero!! LOL

O.T.R., what would you suggest as an effective protein supplement? Would like to know what works well!

I love seeing posts like this Big Frank!! Success stories are always so encouraging!! I'm getting sleeved on February 18th and while I'm excited to make a change, it's a little intimidating!! As far as getting brain-banged by some of the horror stories you see on here...I think we all just have to remember that it is important to go into this thing with our eyes wide open, being fully informed as to what can happen (good and bad)...we just don't need to let ourselves get so wrapped up in the fear that we miss out on such a good thing! There is no way of knowing in advance if you are going to have a leak or any of the other issues that may occur, you can only cross that bridge when you come to it. Best of luck to everyone!!
