2. I teach Sunday School and our decoration theme is "games" and the theme of our whole unit is "choices" encouraging the kids to make good choices because the choices we make have long lasting effects. I also think this can and does apply for us! plus,I just think it's cute. Lol

That's fantastic! I'm just looking forward to being more active as the weight comes off. I've got psoriatic arthritis and it really effects my feet and ankles, but I've also got all this weight making me heavier and that causes a good deal of pain as well as a lack of mobility. Anyone have any thoughts on circuit training? one if the local gyms here provides the employees at my hotel with free memberships in exchange for free nights when they need them...it's really great!

5. Thanks again for all the feedback everyone. To answer that question: I am in the Corpus Christi area. Where in the RGV are you? I have friends in the Weslaco, Harlingen, San Benito, & Edinburgh areas. We do a lot of church events in those areas. I love South Texas!
6. Awesome. Thanks so much for the feedback yall. I haven't been approved yet, that will happen (hopefully) sometime in October and then we will schedule the procedure directly after. I never really considered wls until about a month ago when my parents (I'm on their insurance until April) Sat me down and told me how worried they are about me in terms of my health as well as the way I feel about myself...anyway, I just had my first appointment Wednesday and he's already taking about scheduling the procedure before the end of the year. It is just a tiny bit overwhelming, but I'm not gonna pass up the opportunity! Thanks again for the feedback - Liz

Nail-Bitingly Nervous!

Thanks yall! I appreciate the positive words. I think that people make assumptions and give opinions based on preconceived notions and hearsay. I haven't been letting a lot if people know about my plans, but part of me thinks that not being open about this kind of thing and not sharing your journey is preventing a lot of people from fully understanding. Thanks again for your kind, encouraging words.
12. Just a few months away from "being sleeved"....I know that this is something that I need, but at the same time, I feel that it is a little drastic. I have exhausted so many other options and i just feel helpless and hopeless and the thought that this is someting that might work for me (providing I dedicate myself to doing it right) is so exciting! I wish that I could just take this lightly and act like it doesn't make me a little nervous, but that would be completely untrue! This is a full-on life change! It changes the way you eat, the way you live, the way you look, the way you feel physically, the way you feel about yourself emotionally...and so many other things, not to mention all of the side effects, complications, and restrictions that I have been reading about in my research ...because I am about to be aged out of my parents insuance policy we are on the fast track and I will probably have the procedure done in November or December. I had my first appointment yesterday and I go back to see the dietician two weeks from now, and then the therapist a couple of weeks after that...and then we set the date. This whole whirlwind experience is a bit overwhelming for me... I have great friends and family that are completely supportive and just want me to be healthy and happy but conversly, I have so many friends and family that are hesitant to support me because they don't know what it feels like physically, menatlly, or emotionally to be this overweight and they can't imagine why anyone would turn to a surgical procedure. They view it as being lazy and taking the path of least resistance. *UGH* Im so nervous and overwhelmed! Am I making the right choice? I feel like this is the right thing for me, but then I start thinking about all the possibilities (good and bad) and I just get nervous, confused, and conflicted all over again....HELP!

Question For The Ladies

I used to work at a family planning (non-abortion, just putting that out there) and I cannot tell you how many women came in thinking that they were having "no worries" sex with their IUD only to come in for an exam and it was either not in the right place to be effective, or it had completely fallen out altogether, like in the toilet or something....surprise!..... Now in regards to the Depo Provera injection, it's once every three months and a lot of women find it very convenient. There is a good chance that you will no longer menstruate after your body has time to adjust to the shot, however it can take several months and you may experience heavy bleeding for long periods of time...it's just a matter of waiting to see if your body will eventually stop. Implanon which is a small matchstick sized insert will go into the fleshy part if your arm and allay for a few years should you choose to keep it that long. However, it would be wise to be as tiny bit protective of the implant. My good friend had one and while wrastling
