How Do You Know When You're Full
Bella86 replied to SeriouslyChange's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I discovered the awful pain and vomiting of eating too fast the other day, I'm about 6 weeks out and ate some chicken too quick, normally I'm good but there was something off, felt 100% straight after I vomited -
Hi everyone, I was sleeved on the 15/10/12 by Dr Craig Taylor at the Mater Hospital, Sydney. I'm only a 'newbie' however now that I am settling into my new sleeved life I cannot believe how happy I am!! The first month was a real struggle but I promise it will get better!! At about 6 weeks I'm out and about with friends again, getting too many compliments to manage and sitting at an 18kg (39 pound) weight loss so far. I've still got a long way to go as I want to lose another 30kg at least however I wanted to share a few things with you all.... Firstly I have given away ALL of my pants! I now have shirts that are so baggy that they are nearly a dress and all of my business jackets are able to be buttoned up! For the first time in over 5 years I can walk into a NORMAL shop and try on clothes! I'm a comfortable 18 but have been finding the odd 16 dress that makes me feel oh so good :-D I can't wait till a camping trip I have in January to see some friends that haven't seen me since I was 130kgs...would love to find some good swimwear to show off! I just tried on my school formal dress and I can do the zipper up halfway - this dress didn't fit over my boobs last time I tried... I feel so happy I could cry, this was a dream for me, something I thought was absolutely unobtainable I'd tried every diet and portion control I could think of and couldn't stick at it past a couple of months! This is truly my dream come true and worth every dollar and every ounce of pain, nausea and mcdonalds burger or french fry i will never eat again to have this feeling now! Looking forward to the next six months...would love to hear your stories too or if newly sleeved ppl have any questions about initial stages!

Best Decision I Ever Made!
Bella86 replied to Bella86's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get that feeling too sometimes - that I won't lose all the weight and that I haven't lost as much as others! I figure we're all different with different starting weights, body shapes, age and every sleeve is individual too!! I struggle some days when I'm stalling and I just want to hit under 100kg!! (<220 pounds) I've got about 5kg to go and it seems like that scales refusing to budge atm!! I'm starting to try to push positivity and say to myself to enjoy this size while I've got it, I mean we'll never be here again so y not enjoy this size as a goodbye before I shrink again lol - seriously it's only inevitable with how little I eat now! My main issue atm is my hips actually, I have naturally shapely hips that I lost inside my fat that are now reemerging as the weight drops...I forgot that I always struggled to find pants to fit properly!! Actually the pants in the plus sized stores were heaps easier - probably co thy were elastic lol These dreadful fitted pants for work are loose right up to my hips then struggling to button!! It's quite funny really as I have also lost my butt...baggy right around damn weird body lol -
Your Life 1, 3, 6, And 12 Months Out?
Bella86 replied to lucky8mb1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lucky8 be excited!! I jut started a thread on how this was the best decision I ever made!! I'm only 6 weeks out and have just slipped back into normal life like nothing changed - except it's easier!! I used to be paranoid about eating out in front of ppl now I don't care!! I love my tiny portions of food and I'm learning (sometimes the hard way) that I need to stop ordering so much - wasted a lot of food lol Went to a restaurant last week and ordered the appetizer of three perfectly cooked scallops which were delicious and all I needed! I've resumed going out with friends, was in the city last wknd and camping last night, only difference is everyone keeps saying how great I look! I'm a bit naughty, c'mon I'm young ppl!! Have had a couple of packs of snack maltesers and last night drank two beers instead of my vodka lime soda - def not an everyday thing but everything in moderation! -
4 Days Post Op... Advice?
Bella86 replied to SeriouslyChange's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I could only get through 1/4 of an up and go in my first 2 weeks and even now for some reason about half - I'm 6 weeks post op and potentially it's because all Protein shakes now make me gag lol I enjoyed cottage cheese, found it went down easily -
Fluffy do u do any weight training or pump classes and does it help?

5 Hours Later And I Feel Like Im Gonna Pop!
Bella86 replied to SeriouslyChange's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah ur stomachs probably telling u it's not ready, I was on liquids for 2 weeks, nothing but Protein shakes, drinking yogurts, thin Soup and Water. Even when I moved to the purée stage I stuck to mainly Protein Shakes just to try and get in the protein -
Wth Is Wrong With Me...? Lolbvs
Bella86 replied to deltatrans44's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Gotta love stalls lol Some days I struggle with Water others it's easy...love the 'lazy sleeve' comment -
Freaking out about my arms as they were really big before - my most hated part! I always looked bigger than other ppl even if they were similar size because my arms were big... I know they'll never be perfect, was looking at a pic from when I was 18 and skinnier and they were still big for my size :-/ Might have to try the compression bandages, I've been using bio-oil too to add moisture in hope they'll just pop in lol they are getting a great droop on atm

5 Hours Later And I Feel Like Im Gonna Pop!
Bella86 replied to SeriouslyChange's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've only ever thrown up twice and both happened this week as I'm experimenting with food. I got the worst burning pain in my chest both times and made myself throw up. Just the wrong food and too quick. When I was on liquids if I drank a little too much I'd lie down for 10 mins and it would pass, took it real easy coz I didn't want a leak -
Lol we can only eat such a small amount and I find eating an egg very satisfying! Eat the egg!! Poached is delicious...

It would be great to know if anyone is able to wear a bikini, it seems like an impossible dream right now!
-
I have really curly hair and comb it with conditioner I bit in the shower, haven't noticed an increased loss yet but I'm nervous about it
-
I've been waxing for years, I do it myself and have also been to a beauty therapist. Find a good Beauty therapist, mine was an ex nurse - made me more comfortable! It gets easier the more u do it and the results are fantastic. I'm currently experiencing a shrinking 'region' which is making it easier lol At one stage I used to use an epilator...now if u can handle an epilator u can handle ANYTHING lol

I waited till 5 weeks, by then I had no pain from that awful internal stitch I managed to tear a little in week 1...gave me he'll for about 4 weeks. I'm at 6 weeks now and I wouldn't even think I'd had survey but for the scars and the tiny amount of food I eat lol
-
No way it ever takes me 30 mins to eat, I've never thrown up from eating too fast or eaten too much. I make sure I only dish up about 1/2 to 3/4 a cup of food and I take the same time to eat that amount as others who are eating a normal amount of food around me. Have felt bloated and had to lie down a few times
-
I'm loving my vodka lime sodas and pre op I was a big drinker. Went out last wknd and had quite a few drinks (naughty I know) - prob about 5 drinks all night - I had a fantastic night and although I did feel it faster than I used to (prob the 20kg weight loss + small stomach and so little food) I was comfortable no issues. Wine not sitting so well and if they make my vodka with too much soda I let it sit for a few minutes stirring some bubbles out...

You Know You've Been On Liquid Protein Too Long, When:
Bella86 replied to Strangefruit's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
When you can't even get through 1/4 of an up&go...not because of ur small stomach, but because u just can't do it!! BTW I'm on soft foods now but my morning Protein shake or up&go ritual is now intolerable! -

-

October 17Th'ers.. Where Are Ya?
Bella86 replied to imlosingit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The Protein with no flavor is a great idea!! I've really struggled with protein, can only stomach up to half a shake - whether it's an Optifast, tony ferguson, up&go - all the same... Finding puréed a lot better, can eat half a tin of tuna or chicken, chicken Soup going down a treat :-) Not happy with weight loss but I guess week 3 I need to just heal first, nearly there just this awful stabbing pain from the internal stitch if I turn the wrong way...
