Panera Cheddar Broccoli Soup
elibu replied to scorpio2479's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try putting the soup in the blender on purée and you can eat all of it. If its to thick add a little chicken broth. ENJOY -
Light Headed When I Stand Up
elibu replied to franfaith's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It could be your BP. Orthostatic hypotension can be common if you have lost a lot of weight and are still on BP meds. Make sure until you see your MD you get up slowly at first... Wouldn't it be awesome if you were taken off your meds ; ) -
10 Days Out And Still Feeling Rough
elibu replied to Socketpinch's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Buyers remorse is a good way of putting it. I thought how could I take out a perfectly good working organ and why did I do this to myself. I was sleeved on 8/29 and today hit 25lbs...I feel so good.... Hang in there, it has been just a few days since I have been completely pain free...I promise it does get better...Give yourself time -
If it's only taste and smell that is making yo gag. Find a broth based soup that you like, maybe progresso chicken noodle and strain it. You get the flavor but not the chunks. Once you can eat pureed food. Any soup can be pureed in the blender. I even put Panera tomatoe bisque through the blender and yummy...A cup lasted me 3 meals LOL..

My surgeon had me on full liquids on the day I came home from the hospital. I had no problems. My concern for you would be if you are having problems tolerating broth how could you tolerate other things? Just a thought

Any Suggestions On Getting Rid Of Gas
elibu replied to mrs sandy r's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would lay in bed and cup my hands and lightly pat my stomach...Kind of like burping a baby but on your belly..It really helped me to move the gas some..an of course walking... -
This is a great idea. Love it

I did a 3 day clear liquid diet before..I think sometimes people are asked to go on a Pre Op diet because the heavier you are, the more your liver may be inflammed due to fat deposits. This could make it harder to find landmarks for surgery... If you are concerned Google clear liquid diets and put yourself on one for a day or two...It won't hurt you if that's what you decide to do...

I take B12 sublingual vitamins daily. You can get them at most grocery stores and vitamin shops

Well, I am 4 weeks out today and waited 3 weeks. Never asked my Md when it was OK. Just do what feels OK with you. ; ) -

How Can I Tell When My Sleeve Is Full
elibu replied to Shubox's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ditto here for the "lady burps" I find that if I take one bite more after that it puts me over the top and then I feel like foods sits in my throat for a while.... -
1 Month Out & Starvvving!
elibu replied to CandiKiss's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So sorry you are having a "moment" ; ) I was lucky, My MD let me eat what I could tolerate after just 2 weeks...Haven't had any issues at all...Hang in there! -
One of the first signs of dehydration is a headache. Make sure you concentrate on your Water intake.... Also if you had been drinking caffiene pre op and have stopped post of, it could be the cause too...

I was sleeved on 8/29. Have done really well with eating,no nausea or vomiting, down 20 lbs.... At my 2 week post op visit my MD said the pain I was experiencing on my left side was normal. so I wasn't worried. Well it went away for a few days and IT'S BACK... Couldn't get comfortable last night and the pain on my left side takes my breath away when I stand. Now instead of radiating into my hip it is going to my back...No it's not gas. It's as if when I stand there is something pulling at my insides.. I am a nurse and have gone back to work so I don't know if maybe I am doing to much or what is going on.. So discouraged I could cry!!!

So I have been wearing this blasted binder all night at work. And I do have to say it makes a world of difference. I took it off for a few minutes to see what would happen and yikes! Back on it went : (

I know there is a light at the end of this "pain tunnell". It just sucks sometimes. I have a abdominal binder..Hot to wear here in FL...Oh well!!!

I showered the following day. My surgeon used Dermabond (super glue for skin) on my incisions so it was no big deal to get wet. I would bring my own shower stuff and pj's.... I felt so much better after a shower, clean jammies and a little make up LOL
