    Watch Jay Leno Tonight!

I just googled Lisa - wow, she looks 15 years younger, too! Amazing the difference a year makes! Not that I want to be a year older - but I'm excited to seehow I'll look a year from now. Very inspiring!

    Watch Jay Leno Tonight!

Arsenio had problems with Aubrey O'Day- Beautful girl. Claimed to be a singer, actress, etc. But I never saw her before CA. She was Lisa's partner in crime w/ verbal assaults toward fellow contestants. Lisa is a big mouth. That's how she makes her living. Maybe she'll dual down the b***h factor when she gets to her goal. Peace.

    Watch Jay Leno Tonight!

I liked her as a comic - until she was on Celebrity apprentice last season. I like sarcasm. I like "colorful" language. She was just plain mean. Things she said to other female contestants, treating them like they were the guest of honor at a comedy roast, was just unconscionable. She was depressed and miserable (probably due to her weight) and took it out on others. She hit below the belt and never apologized. I wish her well, but I hope she is real and honest about her surgery and how her obesity fueled her "humor" with hatered. (I can't remember the girls name she tormented, but she was a former beauty quern, gorgeous, and VERY thin!)
  4. Date: 9/27/12 Weight: 258 Lbs. Lost: 7.2. (ya!!) (-20 total since 1st weigh-in at surgeon- 278 on 8/15/12)
  5. I'm getting closer to my date and I'm getting scared! (I've been awake since 4 am)! About recovery...some sleevers said they received a naseau patch. Is this not offered to everyone? I have a sensitive stomach already. Does everyone get a drain? I think my ever-growling stomach on my Pre-op diet us messing with my head! I've had 2 c-sections (1st one- nightmare, the 2nd a year later, not even 1/4 as bad, pain-wise) and a bunionectomy last Feb. - that hurt! So I guess I should stop reading posts that put unnecessary fears in my head, put on my big girl pants, and stop worrying! Had to vent....

    Barix Clinic In Pa

Hi there! I'm not going to your clinic, but I share your feelings of nervousness mixed with excitement! I'm ready to get this party started already! Jumped through my last hoop Mon. night when I had my 2nd sleep study for severe anea. DOS is 10/11/12. I've lost 14 lbs. Already (a drop on the bucket)-looking forward to seeing my size go down! Good luck!
  9. I'm so sorry shrinhadink! Maybe bypass isn't as bad as you think, if it's your only option. A friend at work who had my surgeon and looks terrific had bypass last year. I thought she had the VSG but she said she couldn't (no details given). She's lost 85 pound since last Oct. w/ no complications. She looks fantastic! Don't be discouraged, Hun. Just keep reading real life stories and keep informed!
  10. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to everyone having surgery today! You are all in my thoughts and prayers!

    The Skin....skin!

Bread, OMG I feel like a heroin addict. I was soooo addicted. I guess I still am and will always be. I miss it but I know it was (is) so bad for me.

    The Skin....skin!

I too am worried about looking like a charpae but when I asked my husband what he would prefer -he said as long as I'm happy, then to him I am hot (good answer!) He then looked at my stomach ("Big Bertha") and said he did nt understand what I was saying. I was like the skin will be down to here (pointing to my upper thighs) and he replied "but now it's out to here! As long as you still feel soft and smell nice I won't mind the extra skin." awe! But that's what he says now!! 

    Approved!

Hi Joy! I'm also going on10/11. I let my surgeon tell me about all options and we decided the VSG was the best fit for me due to digestion issues (he didnt want to involve cutting the intestines) and history of success in weight loss, but not in maintenance or obtaining goal. The lap band wasn't an option, I have 2 coworkers who lost weight at first, maybe half-way to goal, then they started to gain weight. That's the story of my life! I am scared, yet so excited to have this done!

    I Hate My Pre-Op Diet!

Good luck, Gabby! I'm on day 6 of my Pre-op diet ( dos 10/11/12). I can have a lean and green dinner, shakes for b&l and 2 fruits, and I am starving! Tonight I'm doing my 2nd sleep study for my apnea. Well at least I know I won't cheat tonight! (a few almonds has been my go-to when I can't stand the stomach growling another second!) I've been very busy at work and trying to walk more when shopping, etc. So I may be burning extra calories but I've got to say, I am very cranky and I have another week and a half before the liquid diet! (I'm praying to God the pounds start melting off! Wow this is hard-and I haven't had the operation yet!
  15. A pound a day is awesome! Be proud girl, be proud! I cant wait for my surgery to really start losing weight. I've lost 14 lbs. Since my first MD. Appt. on Aug15. but I've cheated a tiny bit every few days or so (too much pb on celery), a bite of this or that, etc. Not much compared to what I used to eat, but I could have better results if I relied on will power a bit more. I'm just so hungry some days. I really hope my VSG will curb my hungry beast! I may try hypnotism to go along with the surgery to help with my "stuffing" issues. Can anyone relate?
  16. Wow- 40 pounds is fantastic! When is your surgery date? Good luck!

    Embarrassing....

Reading this post- first I started to tear up, remembering my own seat belt extender airplane story, the walk of shame from the go cart ride I couldn't fit in (in front of daughter's little Brownies Girl Scout Troop- go mom!), but by the last I read the last story I was laughing snd crying at the same time! Hysterically funny! Many of us have used humor, mostly self-depricating- might I add, to survive! I do have one (of many!) embarrassing story to share...not only did I break a lawn chair during a BBQ at my in-laws in front of the entire family, I was on a hill, so when the chair legs collapsed, I tumbled, almost full somersault!, down the hill- legs akimbo, skirt up, plate of food - flying! All the while my sister in laws Swedish husband photographed the whole thing!!!! OMG -really?!? I wanted to die! All the children came rolling down the hill after me- thinking I was having fun ! We all laughed- but inside I died a little, or maybe a lot, that day! Can't wait to fit nicely in any chair! I've had "beach/lawn chair" fobia ever since!
  18. Wow! I love when things like that happen! Sounds like you are doing great! Good luck at the hospital. Bring some unscented baby wipes and powder to freshen up in bed until you can shower and chap stick/lip balm. I started my Pre-op diet on 8/17 and I've lost 14 pounds! I am totally a carb and iced coffee addict- eliminating them right off the back made a difference! I am hungry, tho. 2 shakes plus 1 lean and green (a 2nd shake if I'm too hungry - but shakes get boring! I miss chewing!) it's ok though. I went shopping at Lane Bryant today and the whole time I'm thinking "this will be THE LAST fall I'll be buying my new outfits there!" The clothing is beautiful but so darn expensive! I bought a new robe for the hospital (mine is raggedy!) and some desperately needed bras and panties. Next year I'm getting boots 'n jeans and a leather jacket (am I 25? No! But I don't care!) LOL
  19. Curious- pose-sleevers: Is it easier on your stomach for whatever you eat as a mushy to be moist? I'm assuming you want to move gently from clear to opaque to pureed and then finally to reg. food. I like the retried beans example- at least they are a flavorful alternative. I think I'll make homemade soups with beans (like escarole or minestrone) and purée it- if I'm permitted the ingredients, of course!
