30 SECOND COCOA COOKIE 1 teaspoon butter or coconut oil 1/2 scoop vanilla whey protein powder, 1/6 cup * 1 teaspoon cocoa 2 teaspoons granular Splenda or equivalent liquid Splenda ** Water, as needed In a small microwaveable bowl, heat the butter in the microwave about 20 seconds or until melted. Skip this step if using coconut oil. If you're using liquid Splenda, mix it into the melted butter or oil now. Stir in the whey powder and granular sweetener as well as you can. It will be very dry and crumbly. Gradually add water, about 1/8 teaspoon at a time, just until you can form the mixture into a ball that isn't too sticky to handle. Some oil might ooze out of the dough but that's fine. Keep the dough ball in the bowl, flatten it into a cookie shape and microwave on HIGH 15-30 seconds or until the dough puffs up and looks set and dry to the touch. Don't over cook it or it will come out very dry. In my microwave it takes about 15-20 seconds. Cool and eat.Makes 1 cookie * I used Body Fortress brand. ** I used 1 teaspoon spoonable Truvia (not the kind in packets) that I ran through my coffee grinder to make powdered "sugar". I measured it after grinding. With granular Splenda: Per Serving: 117 Calories; 6g Fat; 13g Protein; 3g Carbohydrate; 1g Dietary Fiber; 2g Net Carbs With liquid Splenda:Per Serving: 113 Calories; 6g Fat; 13g Protein; 2g Carbohydrate; 1g Dietary Fiber; 1g Net Carb

All of my December sleevers...
MaryDrew replied to blkdiamond377's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm doing well. I lost 155 and weight 155, exactly 1/2 of me. I still follow most of my rules, Protein first, few carbs, no drinking with eating, etc. I'd still like to lose 10-20 more but I would need to exercise to do that. LOL 3 Years will be this coming Sunday for me. Best think I ever did. ONLY REGRET is not doing it sooner. -
Hi. I haven't check in in quite a while. I'm 10 months out tomorrow, 54, 5'2" and have lost 100 pounds. Seems slow and I'm kind of stuck and have been for a while---since July. I lost my job, my oldest ds(19) withdrew from college and lost his scholarship so stress has become my life. I have no motivation to exercise even though I have plenty of time. I am doing house remodeling type projects like painting and organizing but that's about it. I am also posting every bite I have in myfitnesspal so at least I'm complying that way. I just am so discouraged in everything right now.

how is drinking alcohol after post op
MaryDrew replied to Thatguy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I actually find it the opposite effect as it seems to take more to get me loopy. Not good. I was always a drinker and I am working very hard not to let it become a cross addiction. I don't understand when people say it affects them so quickly. Not me. Don't know why. -

All of my December sleevers...
MaryDrew replied to blkdiamond377's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi, I'm back. I don't come here often because when I see others that have lost a lot more than me, it makes me feel discouraged. That may be selfish but it is how I feel. I know everyone is diferent and all that stuff. JMHO I just passed my 6 month mark, going to wls for weigh in today as a matter of fact. Also, just got back from a family vacation---took my protein shakes and pushed the water. I was surprised to see a 2 lb loss upon our return. I want to start couch potato to 5K. Maybe I can check in more and support anyone that needs it and maybe even get some motivation myself. -
Post op appt was yesterday. Lost 16 lbs in 17 days. So many others have lost a lot more. Is it cause I'm 53 going to be 54? Because I'm lazy and didn't really exercise? Any thoughts or wisdom to share? I'm feeling discouraged and now moving to soft foods. Thinking if I only lost that much on shakes only, I'll not even lose that much on food.

All of my December sleevers...

I don't mean to put anyone down but when people post that they have lost in excess of 100 lbs in such short periods, it makes me angry. I wonder why them and not me??? I want to know if I'm doing something wrong and yet I know I'm following my protocol 100%. I just had to post because I don't come on here daily because of this reason. I guess I'm just jealous and petty. Anyone else feel like me??? -

Non scale victories are just as good, if not better, than the weight loss pounds. This is a journey and we are not in a race. Just keep eating your protein, getting in your water and the loss will follow. I am one pound away from 60 pounds but I have lots of NSV that I experience everyday that keep me going. -
Hi Folks. All of a sudden, big changes are happening. I am wearing 1X tops compared to 3X. My pants are too big. I was able to comfortably cross my legs on Sunday. Can't even remember the last time I was able to do that and as of today, I am 1 pound away from 60 pounds gone!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woohoo.

Looking For Dec Sleevers Out There
MaryDrew replied to mandyMO's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'll be 3 months out on Sunday. I am losing although not at a fast pace. According to my home scale, it's about 53 pounds gone. I do feel lots better, can move easier, am more flexible, don't need afternoon naps anymore, am sleeping better. I had to cut my bp pill in half. There are lots of benefits besides just weight loss. -
Hi. Here's my update: I'll be 3 months out on Sunday, March 3. On my home scale, I've lost about 53 pounds. I'm still learning to eat and trying to get all my food in and it is hard. I'm told it'll get easier. I will be 54 in May. sastexan4u---good luck to you. I love your zoo in Tyler. towanda--I went back to work in 10 days but I have a desk job and only work 4-5 hours a day. It was so exhausting!!!! Hi Kari--good luck to you. I don't tell many people either. I understand that.

Made these for Super bowl tomorrow. Cheesecake stuffed strawberries 1 lb strawberries, washed and cut 2 ways, in an x to spread out 8 oz low fat cream cheese 1 tsp vanilla 1/4 cup splenda or whatever as you use Warm cream cheese to room temp. Beat the vanilla and as into it. Use a spoon or a pastry bag with a star tip and stuff the strawberries. I cut the X on the fruit part and leave the green leaves. Spread the strawberry out some so you can fill it. Makes about 16-20 depending on the size of the berries.

I made these and my family loved them. I made some big ones and some tiny ones for me but also added sauteed onions. I baked for about 25 minutes at 350. Spinach and Feta Turkey Burgers 2 eggs, beaten 2 cloves garlic, minced 4 ounces feta cheese 1 (10 ounce) box frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry 2 pounds ground turkey seasoned salt Preheat an outdoor grill for med-high heat and lightly oil grate. While the grill is preheating, mix together eggs, garlic, feta cheese, spinach, and turkey in a large bowl until well combined; form into 8 patties.Cook on preheated grill until no longer pink in the center, 15 to 20 minutes.

Is anyone else as tired as I am?
MaryDrew replied to hinportland's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We're twins--I was 6 weeks yesterday. I am so tired. Definitely need a daily nap. Haven't started exercising but of course, dr said that's the answer. I had my 6 week checkup yesterday and dr gave me a B12 shot. I just had one on Nov 29 but she said it would make me feel better. I don't yet. Who knows? I'm going to start walking today. I hope I can do a good amount--like 15 minutes at least. -
One month post op and just dang tired---advice please
MaryDrew posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So Thursday was one month from my surgery. I'm having a hard time getting in my protein but usually make it pretty close. I'm still doing at least one shake since I can't eat much protein at a time. I have no problem getting in my fluids. I'm taking my vitamins every day. Is this normal? How do I get more energy? I need an afternoon nap and I feel like I'm just always dragging. Is it winter maybe? Any thoughts/experience will be appreciated. -

You have lost 110 lbs since Aug 2? -
Looks interesting but I don't have many of these ingredients and don't even know what they are.

The new ceramic nonstick pans--usually Italian made. They are awesome. Nothing sticks and they are super easy to clean. Plus no bad emmisions like with the old nonstick kind.

Looking For Dec Sleevers Out There
MaryDrew replied to mandyMO's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Today makes 4 weeks for me--mine was Dec 3. I'm doing pretty good. Still feeling tired in the afternoons but I've been doing a lot more than usual, shopping, baking, wrapping, cleaning. The only thing that didn't agree with me so far has been yogurt and an egg. I have an egg every morning but today, tummy wasn't happy. I'm on soft/pureed foods. Tuna was ok but I missed bread. I don't like tuna with just mayo on a spoon. Bleck. -
Feeling discouraged--sleeved Dec 3
MaryDrew replied to MaryDrew's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks for all that commented. I have followed my dr's protocol 100%. I am not a low bmi so I just kind of expected more. I am not even weighing myself at home. I will but only once a week. I am adding walking and being more active in general so it'll all be fine.
