I'm soooo excited to share to a group of people like me that I received my surgery today....yeeeaaaa!!! After going thru my 6 month weight management and then being denied, I finally got my date today for Oct.5. I've been a Google freek all morning reading different post. So I decided to just go ahead and join in hopes that others testimonials can be aa good help to me as well as mine once I'm well on my way. Thank you in advance for your help!

Oh...ok! When I put my info in, it put me at 1200 a day. I changed it to 1000.....I may have to take that number down some bcuz I'm still having a bit of a time with my intake. But I know it will change. Best if wishes to u in ur loosing journey!

I used my fitness pal b4 I had this procedure done....and it worked good for me.....until I fell off track. I'm now downloading it again to get back on the wagon to getting down to my weight goal. My only issue is bcuz I have acid reflux, its kinda hard still for me to get in what I'm needing. I am doing better than I was last week. My question is, when putting ur goals in, how many calories do u put n to intake a day?

Ok....I'm 3 weeks post op today and am just coming home from the ER because of bn dehydrated. Since being sleeved, I have been back in the ER 2wice for dehydration and after the first time in the ER, a day later I was readmitted into the hospital for 3 days. This acid reflux is really the pits for me!! I'm not able to get down a good 8oz of fluid and I'm feeling like crap! I'm not fully vomiting, but whatever I try drinking or eating, it comes right back up to the back of my mouth and its NASTY....NASTY....NASTY!!!! My meds have been increased but the sad thing is since I can't get much fluids in, the meds aren't dissolving really like it needs to. On top of that, (not to get tooo nasty), I'm not using the bathroom like I should be. So, my question is, is their anyone else having this problem? If so, how r u dealing with it?? I mean the only thing that seems to kinda stay down are SF popsicles. I know it takes a while to get things down, but like all day today b4 going to ER, I had maybe 4ozs of my soy milk and protein. I just finished the rest of it.....other than that, I had 2 bags of IV fluids. I pray this gets better, my doc said if not I may have to go back in for bypass. I just feel miserable and often a lil weak. Anyone else like this??

Thank u much!! Yeah, I am gonna call on Monday. Today, I've just been sipping Gatorade...that's it! Not even 8ozs all day. But I also don't want to be on this medicine forever either. I pray it'll come under submission real soon. Thanx again!

Well, my reflux wasn't really bad prior, but it's worse now. Tho when I was doing research on the vsg, it did mention that the reflux may get worse. Now, I was asked by someone that was working with my doc in her office why didn't I get the bypass since I was having this issue. He said bcuz of the reflux it would've been better. I also read on here on ladies post that she'd gotten a scope done and bcuz of her reflux they were gonna do the full bypass and not the sleeve.

Acid reflux is basically when u can't keep any Fluid or anything u eat down. It'll go down but come back up like when u burp. Ull also have a nasty taste in ur mouth or the back of ur throat. Sometimes it may feel like u have a lump in ur throat and u may have a sick feeling in ur stomach. These are the symptoms that I've had and because of it, I haven't been able to get in what I need to. Its not a good thing at all!!! I hope u don't have or get it!

I haven't been get down much of nothing!! I'd try and do my soy milk and protein powder which will give me a total of 32g, and that hasn't been happening for me....especially in this last week. I tried fixing a smoothie and I got down maybe half a cup with that bn all of any intake that whole day.

Well, that's good to know. I hope my issue will get better soon as well. Had u or do u feel hungry a lot, bcuz I do?

I have been checked for leaks, don't have any. She wanted to scope me on Monday, but she felt it was a lil too soon since I was then only a lil over 2 weeks. Reason for bypass was to reduce the reflux. I was told because of having the reflux issue prior, I should have gotten that anyway. But we'll see...

In ER with bad pain....waiting to have a cat scan done....uggghhh. This too shall pass....

Hey sleevers! Well, day 2 post op and the pains wanna still stay. I've been up walking and everything. Trying to burp but I can't...urrgghhh. At leaat I'm not crying like last night. I know that this too shall pass!

Liquid diet today....yeah for me! In tomorrow at 5:30am.....first on their menu for the day. It's ok tho. I think the butterflies are starting to flutter now.....smh. I'm just gonna stay calm today and relax. I've got a early start in the am, I'm like 2 hrs away. But nevertheless, I'm gonna enjoy my liquids....lol

Here's to wishing us October sleevers well as we start to journey onto/into a new us!! I think I had my last of my favorites today at a cookout reception I attended. I had my uncles famous ribs and his special sauce and it was great! I only had 2 small pieces, so I didn't do bad. I now am, starting tomorrow, gonna prepare myself for Friday, the day of my new beginning. I have to do my pre op one day diet on Thursday, so I have some mental time tho I know I can do it. I just want to say to u ALL, Im sure that ur nerves may kick in and some may feel u may fail, but just know that life and death is in the power of the tongue and once u speak it, u have planted a seed and that is the harvest that will grow. So of course everyones journey isn't gonna be the same. Yes I may even have some down moments, but just don't speak it. And if it does happen, just know ur not alone and HE will not put more on u than u can bear. That's why we have docs and nurses. HE also allows and helps us to make wise chooses. So, know that u WILL have victory after this and the goals uve set and things on ur bucket list, if u have one, will be met. I wish u all well and blessings to you on your new beginning. My day, this Friday Oct. 5, will be here b4 I know it!!!! Yeah me!

Thank u and well wishes to u! As far as me bn ready, no not really. I haven't bought my items for my liquid diet bcuz I know that my taste buds are going to change. But I do have to get my items for my one day post op diet. How about u, r u ready?

Wooowwww....I'm going in nxt Friday!!!! When I think about it, I kinda get nervous. But I know that when I get my call from the hospital nxt Wed to let me know what time to be there, its gonna be really really real then. Wowwwww.... I wish everyone well on this life change that we are about to make or have already started making. Praying that we stay focused and meet our WL goals and everything else we'd like to be able and healthier to do!
