Dr. Frenzel Arlington-Dallas, Tx
suegirl replied to Dee-Texas's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Dr. Frenzel also works out of other hospitals.. he is a member of the Fort Worth Lap Band office... I used Dr. Adams out of their office with my surgery at Baylor Trophy Club. I have a friend that used Dr. Frenzel AND Dr. Smith and swears by both.. I have heard nothing but good things about both doctors... The Forest Park Medical Center is a privately owned hospital. Owned by numerous doctors... Dr. Frenzel, Dr. Smith, Dr. Kim, and others... Turns out Baylor Trophy Club is also doctor owned/affiliated... That means THEY control the costs and therefore the self pay costs are less expensive. -
Does Anyone Else Have To Stay Very Close To The Bathroom After Drinking A Protein Shake?
suegirl replied to SleeveShelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did.... Just a couple of swallows and it was off to the bathroom... If you're mixing it with milk seems to be the trigger for me... Not as much with water.... -

401k loans and hardship withdrawals are another option too..... At least your paying yourself back at a positive interest rate and you can deduct it off your income taxes next year if it exceeds 7.5% of your gross income...

I have seen posts selling and others referring to having one...I can see the logic in having them... Any thoughts? Has anyone's Doctor said anything about having one?

Medic Alert Bracelets? Do We Need One?
suegirl replied to suegirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums

All Sept 12 Sleevers - Are You Ready?
suegirl replied to wallman's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow.. I am lucky I guess... two days clear liquid ( I am starving by the way, ugh ) and one anti nausea pill three hours prior to surgery tomorrow afternoon... No enemas, laxatives, or magnesium whatever that is LOL -
I cannot tolerate anything like the Slim Fasts so I was worried too... I got the Premier shakes from the Dr. office.. They were ok, no aftertaste, but kind of spendy... I ordered the Unjury powders from www.unjury.com... I tried one of the samples and it was AWESOME.. Not gritty, no aftertaste, not horribly sweet (I mix mine with 12 oz of 2% milk). They offer Vanilla, Chocolate, and Strawberry.. The vanilla and strawberry are good.. I am not a fan of chocolate drinks period so I didn't even try it...

I am in Burleson and I consulted with Dr. Kim.. Pissed me off! I wanted to use Baylor Trophy Club, where he does surgery too.. he said no. Said he preferred "his" hospital, Forest Park in North Dallas.. Not exactly convenient? Suggested that I use a "car service" for transportation if it was "too far"... Ugh.. I left there and went to Dr. Adam Smith at Fort Worth Lap Band... Couldn't ask for better... Comes highly recommended too so that made me happy. He is not only qualified, he is a band patient too...

I am in Burleson but very familiar with that park.. used to go there to take pictures... Surgery is tomorrow so it will be a little bit before I am out and about...

All Sept 12 Sleevers - Are You Ready?
suegirl replied to wallman's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am scheduled for tomorrow afternoon and yes I am nervous.. but I think I am more nervous about what life would be like if I don't have it... I have been on the low carb for two weeks and today is day 2 of the clear liquid pre-op... I have lost 8 lbs... but I am STARVING... ugh. There isn't enough broth/jello/Mio/water to fill me up lol... But I know it will be worth it.... I watched two of my aunts die morbidly obese and I don't want to "be them" and that's where I am headed if I don't have it... Prayers and blessings for everyone..! -

I also use Pinterest for after surgery recipe ideas.. there are lots of folks who have had the surgery that have pinned some really good recipes.. -
The lady in this article is on www.gastricsleeve.com and I have spoken with her previous to this.. She has worked hard to get where she is today.. Haters are gonna hate.... screw them. She did what she did for HER REASONS and NO ONE has the right to judge someone based on their decisions...

What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
suegirl replied to bigjoe102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have watched my weight climb since I turned 40.. The doctor, family, and friends all claim that is "normal"... 110 lbs in 6 years IS NOT NORMAL... All health systems check out normal. No co-morbidities and apparently no one believed I weighed over 225 lbs. I was playing with my grandson and the boyfriend asks me what "that noise" was... That noise, was my knees... they grind so loudly. I too have shrunk an inch which doesn't help.. But I had to travel to Michigan by plane for work and the armrest wouldn't stay down because my hips were in the way... I was so embarrassed and so done living like this... I was limiting my life to accommodate my size... Not any more.. I am scheduled for surgery this Wednesday... -
Wow lucky you.. I started to go to Dr. Kim and he wouldn't do his surgery anywhere but Forest Park Medical in North Dallas.. A hospital that he owns part of... I changed to Dr. Smith at Fort Worth Lap Band and I will be at Baylor Trophy Club on the 12th... Three more wake ups!
