    I'm Officially A Failure:(

Oh dear... we all cheated at some point... Nothing too serious.. You just have to remember to get back up on that wagon and move on.. it doesn't make you a failure.. it means you're human...

    Self Pay

Ahhh but anything medical, out of pocket that exceeds 7.5% of your gross income is deductible...

    Self Pay

Just remember to save EVERY receipt pertaining to your surgery... anything over 7.5% of your gross income is deductible on next years tax return... that will help to offset the tax hit you will take for having withdrawn the money..

    Coffee

I was sleeved on 09/12 and I have been drinking my coffee for a week...
  7. Shrimp And this might help.. http://www.highproteinfoods.net/
  8. I used Unjury and Premier prior to my surgery... What my doctor explained is that some people have a allergy to the whey because of the milk sugars that are used to make it... I couldn't use any of the whey proteins post surgery due to upsetting my stomach... The soy/almond milks are disgusting to me so I actually started drinking chocolate 2% milk... the cocoa actually masks the milk sugars and it doesn't upset my stomach... it helps to increase my protein intake...
  9. The Dr. actually moved me to soft/pureed a little faster than others because I couldn't tolerate the whey or the soy powders/drinks... the almond milk and soy milk make me gag.. so I was getting NO protein and losing energy quickly... I am just over three weeks out and I eat pretty much anything soft that I can... and am no longer having any problems...

    Eating?

I had that until I used the Gas X dissolvables.. AND it's completely normal... the dr. also prescribed me Nexium for the first month and that helps too, with the healing
  11. You are so much nicer than I would have been... about the point she shot of her mouth, I would have spun on my heels and let her have it with both barrels with a finger in her chest, knowing me... I hate rude behavior and I won't abide it. Not only was she disrespecting YOU, she was disrespecting those others and that just shows how small and shallow she is...

    Seeing A Therapist

The therapist that I spoke with pre surgery was the coolest woman ever... We sat and talked about everything and there was no judgement... She was full of answers to my questions and they are more equipped to handle what we think than we are LOL... I don't tell a lot of my life story to anyone, but with her? It was easy and I felt a lot better about my decision after talking to her...

    Protein Bars

Looking at the labels... I would say that's sugars... most of their carbs are fiber...

    Protein Bars

These are the ones I am going to try...http://www.questproteinbar.com/
  15. I was sleeved on 09/12 and the doctor advised me not till after at least, two months out on salad and peels.. You can try it but everyone that has prior to 3-4 months? said it hurt like hell... I would love a really good salad but I can wait.. I haven't had any problems food wise.. I am whey protein / lactose intolerant so I had to start eating a little earlier just to get ANY protein... The soy made me gag...
  16. Mine has gone away after just 25 lbs down... no more Vesicare!
  17. I have known a couple of people to have shingles sans the rash... it is EXCRUCIATING .. I hope they caught it and got it under control for you!

    Paying For Surgery

Just keep every receipt related to the doctor appts. and surgery.... If it adds up to more than 7.5% of your gross income at the end of the year, you can deduct everything over 7.5%

    Paying For Surgery

The tax repercussion is less because now I can claim anything medical over 7.5% of my annual income which will offset and negate the tax I would be hit with for taking it early... and no it isn't a joke... Over a decade with the company and they fired me two days after my birthday... "restructuring" they call it...
  20. I also work from home but the first two weeks, I really did not feel like "working"... I would get tired and trying to "eat" and drink the 40+ ounces of fluid...? It was it's own distraction lol... This is the first week I have felt really 100%...
  21. As there are numerous locations in Mexico that don't go through San Diego. Logic dictates that there is more surgery locations than Tijuana...
  22. You have to learn the difference between head hungry and actual hunger... I found the more water/liquid I drank, the less actual hunger I felt... I cheated once or twice... I had some pizza a couple of days prior to my surgery. but it's about moderation. It's about starting right back at it when you cheat...

    Paying For Surgery

I got fired, took my entire 401K, self paid, bought a motorcycle and a camera... saved the rest.. Got another job and a new me!
  24. The staples are permanent and they are titanium... they are also very tiny and will not set off the metal detector. If they did, none of these folks going to and from Mexico for their surgeries would be able to get through..

    A Bit Of A Dilemma

My first appt was with Dr. Kim and he wouldn't do the surgery anywhere but Forest Park in North Dallas... I am in Burleson. He told me I should rent a car service if it was "inconvenient" to drive.. Pissed me off... I left his office and went to Fort Worth Lap Band and saw Dr. Adam Smith.. he would do my surgery at Trophy Club Baylor... I could do that.. Turns out that Dr. Kim does surgery at Baylor Trophy Club too.. I have determined that it is whatever is "convenient" for HIM... he tried to tell me that the self pay cost at any other hospital was going to be higher but since he had a owner interest at Forest Park, he could control the costs... He has the same "owner interest" at Baylor.. he is just full of ****... Since he has had so many "famous" patients he has gotten a bit big for his britches.. As for Wise Regional? Damn nice hospital, I know one woman who had hers there and loved it... Personally, Baylor TC was AWESOME 20 rooms is all there is at this hospital... all they do there is Orthopedic and Gastric surgeries... As for Dr. Kim? I wouldn't give him my time much less my money...
