Go to Sonic and as for a Sunshine Smoothie...it might not be on their menu but they will still make them... 50+ in the protein, strawberries, banana, a bit of orange juice and soft serve well blended...it is awesome...

Favorite No-Calorie, No-Carbonation, No-Caffeine Beverages?

Green/herbal teas.... -
Just remember, what works today may not work tomorrow... Your tummy is still healing and I found I could eat something one day but the very next day it wouldn't agree with me so be easy... No rush. Take your time....

Am I Loosing Fast Enough? (Got The Sleeve At 154#)
suegirl replied to vssupermodel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Please don't over dramatize this... I simply asked questions about the factors that didn't add up and the inconsistencies in her profile.. in case you haven't noticed, there are scammers on these pages and as a result, you have to be careful who you are talking too... and FYI... unless she has NUMEROUS co-morbidities, a 28 BMI is still questionable finding a surgeon that would recommend, much less do something so dramatic on someone so young as she... and please note that we have gotten updated information since her original post... VSSupermodel... if you have lost some weight and you just had the surgery in August, I would talk to your nutritionist if you have any questions about how fast you are supposed to lose.. the lower your starting number, the slower most are to lose their weight.. slower is also better simply because of elasticity issues.. -
Am I Loosing Fast Enough? (Got The Sleeve At 154#)

I don't mean to sound rude but something doesn't smell right with this... A doctor that would do the surgery on someone not considered obese? Her profile is misleading.. it says both presurgery and that she had surgery on Aug 25... Even at 5'2".. 150 is not considered obese.. that is only a 28.2 BMI... -
Everything that I have found spells out how you WILL NOT get your surgery for free nor reimbursed for it because of the legality of PURCHASING an organ which is illegal...

Very interesting... I wouldn't have thought of that..

Not before 6 months from everything I have read... Mot people that have tried them before that said they hurt... I would LOVE a salad but I think i will wait...

I guess I am one of the lucky ones.. When they moved me to soft foods, I started tasting everything that I wanted too and so far I haven't had a problem with anything except spicy stuff and lemonade cookies... I couldn't tolerate any of the protein drinks so I had to find another way to get my protein... now I eat what I want, just very damn little of it...

Dehydration and it doesn't take but a day or two after this surgery to get that way and dangerously so... if you have a strong smell, that could also be a result of the Vitamins you are taking since your surgery.. It could also be a sign of dehydration. You need to contact your doctor... Needing to go but unable too is a very significant sign of dehydration.

Anyone Have Similar Numbers
suegirl replied to 120darby's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
46 years old, 221 when I started this with a BMI of 35.5... No comorbidities.. As a result, self paid, almost a month ago.. absolutely happy with it... -
Just as a side note... for those of you that would derail this ladies VERY IMPORTANT thread with your political crap, you were reported for your lack of respect... Bubbles, nothing has to be decided right this minute.. take some time, take a deep breathe, and remember this... You can take on debt to save your life or you can risk a short life due to the comorbidities that come from doing nothing... I promise you it looks dark right now but there really is a way around this pot hole on the highway to healthy.. Look into medical loans... Look into a 401k hardship withdrawal.... Look into a personal loan at the bank.. whatever the options are available in YOUR area... If nothing else? Make that attorney hang those previous doctors out to dry... take a settlement and lifetime (replacement) surgery... Those attorneys know how to get you something out of this... Don't give up.. It is worth the battle..

Dr David Kim Colleyville
suegirl replied to berthaeaster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went in and met with Dr. Kim twice... both times I was highly disappointed... I explained that I lived South of DFW and would need a hospital closer to home... he actually told me to rent a car service if HIS Forest Park Hospital was too far to drive. He stated that he could control the costs at HIS hospital, since I was a self pay.. I left his office and went to Fort Worth Lap Band and had surgery with the best doctor!.. Dr. Adam Smith... I had my surgery at Baylor Southlake.. Awesome hospital.. Turns out that Dr. Kim did the same surgery, for the same cost at Baylor Southlake... Made me very unhappy to find out that it was a bit of a scam, paywise with Dr. Kim... -
Scared Myself With Websites
suegirl replied to dadici's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just remember the horror stories of staying in the condition we were all in... The condition that led us to even contemplate this surgery in the first place... Was I sore after surgery? Sure, who the hell wouldn't be?.... Do I miss food? Sometimes.. I miss warm weather by mid December too but it's all good... You will find that you get to eat again... one day. It took us years to get to this position and it won't get fixed overnight... but I can assure you, you will be so much happier in the end... You will also be healthier AND live longer... To me the alternative was jut not acceptable... -
Yes ma'am you can.. what it boils down to is this: all your medical expenses (including some travel but check with an accountant on how much) added together... Anything over 7.5% of your gross income is deductible..

They did mine right after they put me under and before they sleeved me... Not one issue..

At three weeks I had Shrimp Scampi with Ziti... I ate four pieces of pasta and two pieces of shrimp.. that's it! It was awesome though... tonight we went there again and I had the steak and onion out of a sub... Not so good... the onion doesn't like me.. Of course we are regulars at this wonderful Italian place and they thought there must be something wrong with the food since I didn't finish LOL.. I had to explain and now I bring home LOTS of leftovers...

And the stomach can restretch and be "undone" as a result.. And other than that? If she cannot be more supportive than that, then that probably isn't a subject y'all need to be talking about...? -
Before you write it off based on the opinion of someone else, read everything about it you can and ask your doctor... I think that the doctor would have a better idea if a collagen/whey/casein protein is acceptable...
