I was in Walmart and they have a couple new Atkins frozen dinners. The one I snatched up was the Pasta one. Has anyone else tried it?

New frozen dinner at walmart.

I asked my dr that and he said yes. The contradiction comes in on sweet things. Atkins markets those with net carbs as well but they count sugar alcohols or something similar. Those don't count. It's always carbs minus fiber. -

Love the beef merlot. A little salty. Not a fan if mushrooms so haven't tried the meatloaf lol. -

It wasn't insanely high in sodium. Ate it yesterday.there were maybe 6 noodles in the whole thing. Satisfied the craving very well though. -
Watching the chew and got the idea from something they were making. chicken cordon bleu. Buy leg quarters and have the butcher remove the bones. Pound it down like you would a cutlet (skin side down). Salt and pepper to taste. Add one piece low fat ham, and one slice low-fat or fat free Swiss cheese. Roll the chicken and tie both ends with kitchen string. Place in 500 degree oven for 20-25 minutes. Remove and let sit 5-10 minutes to let juices redistribute and finish cooking. Enjoy. I was curious about leg quarter nutrition so here is the chicken nutrition not including ham and cheese. Generic - Chicken Leg Quarter, Roasted W/ Skin Servings: 100 g 1 g Calories 189 Sodium 80 mg Total Fat 12 g Potassium 0 mg Saturated 3 g Total Carbs 0 g Polyunsaturated 0 g Dietary Fiber 0 g Monounsaturated 0 g Sugars 0 g Trans 0 g Protein 17 g Cholesterol 84 mg Vitamin A 2% Calcium 1% Vitamin C 4% Iron 6%

I've been wanting pasta since I was sleeved a year ago but the carbs are insane. The fact this only has 7 net carbs made me buy 7 of them lol. -
There's definitely an adjustment period. The most frustrating part aside from the hell of the first month was knowing when to stop eating. I'm almost one year out and I still can't eat a lot. I think you learn to adjust to it and you don't really think about it. You're probably never going to eat like a normal person so the best thing you can do is learn to eat for the nutritional value and try not to focus on the amount. In the beginning especially the first month or 2 there can be some discomfort with eating. I had a really good surgeon who has a more gradual plan so it makes it somewhat easier to in time eat more varieties.

I've had the 2 breakfast bowls, the beef merlot, and crust less chicken pot pie. They are small and not that much food in them which for a normal person would suck but for us it's actually perfect. Still can't finish one off at one time. -
I made this a while back. It was good but more like a frittata than a pizza. It was good but if you're expecting pizza you might be disappointed.

Taste Change....
Imjustmee replied to BuriedBombshell's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Didn't happen for me either. It's not something everyone experiences. -
I made the one with cream cheese and protein powder. It was awkwardly dry. I would describe it like a mouthful of powder with cotton mouth. It really bummed me out because I thought this would be THE way to finally eat pizza.

I posted a brownie recipe blindly a week or so ago, but when I made them they were awful. So I went looking for another and made these today. They are awesome. Fudgy, chewy, and If you didn't tell anyone they would never know they were low carb. I will say if your not a fan of flax seed meal you can use almond meal instead. The flaxseed does taste kind of like grass by itself but in the final product you can absolutely not taste it. My only gripe is the seeds in the brand I bought were not ground as fine as I would prefer. Easy fix just run through a food processor, or coffee/pepper grinder. If you don't have erythritol, truvia is made with it. Whole foods sells the powdered brand suggested (zsweet, and Now). I used Splenda as the secondary sweetener. You could also experiment and add sugar free chocolate chips, or Peanut Butter. Try them you won't be disappointed. 1/4 lb butter (1 stick) 2 cups erythritol (powdered, not granulated) 1 Tbsp vanilla 4 eggs (room temp is best) 1/2 cup cocoa 1 tsp salt 4 oz unsweetened chocolate, melted 2 cups flax seed meal 1 Tbsp baking powder 1/3 cup cream 2/3 cup Water 1 cup artificial sweetener 1 cup walnuts (optional) Preparation: Preheat oven to 350 F and grease a 9X13 pan. 1) Cream the butter until fluffy. 2) Add the erythritol to the butter and cream them together until fully combined (aim for a fluffy texture). Will appear almost like wet sand. 3) Add the vanilla and beat the eggs into the mixture, one at a time. 4) Add salt and cocoa, beat well. 5) Add chocolate, beat until fluffy. 6) Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well to combine. 7) Pour into a pan and bake for 35 to 40 minutes until top springs back. (You can also test if they're ready by sticking a toothpick in the brownies. If it comes out clean, or almost-so, they're done.) 8) Cool, then cut into 32 squares. If you cheat and eat one warm, know that the texture will be different once completely cool. That's when they become like real brownies. (They are even better the next day.) Nutritional Analysis: Each of 32 brownies has 1 gram effective carbohydrate, plus 3 grams of Fiber, 3 grams of Protein, 10 grams of fat, and 107 calories.

I let them cool overnight. The butter is unsalted. Im sure you could use margarine if you wanted. Chocolate was unsweetened also.

I will admit I do go to McDonald's periodically. I just order a side salad. It's $1.00, and does the trick. -

I just made this one. It's really good. Kind of like a pizza omelette but good none the less. I'll post pics on another message. -

I tried that recipe and don't know what I did wrong. It browned like a crust but was more of a mashed potato consistency. As far as this recipe I'd like to know what I did wrong as well. It was super dry and almost powdery. It was however well flavored though. -

Congrats on your surgery. The first few weeks will be the hardest. You'll find your pain gets better each day, and pretty soon this part will all be a memory. -
is pasta really that bad for you, when you can only eat 2oz ?
Imjustmee replied to belle2304's topic in Food and Nutrition
There have been some studies about dreamfields pasta and how it might not bee all that it claims. If you have some time google it and see if that might give you some insight. http://www.dietdoctor.com/the-dreamfields-pasta-fraud -
Did I do something wrong?
Imjustmee replied to LifetimeLoser's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It could be any number of things from a pulled muscle, to a cramp, or something more serious. If I were you I would call your surgeon and find out what they want you to do. It's always better to be safe. -
In the beginning I was told it could count as liquid.later on I was told not to add it to my liquid count.

You're welcome. It's only natural to have those moments.
