  1. I can't complain about my dr anymore lol. My diet is structured but nowhere near as strict as this I'm basically told at least 64 oz of water, 90-120 g of protein(due to my size), and carbs should be about half of your protein Intake. So for me 45-60 grams a day. As far as soda I was told to avoid but wasn't told never on anything. I've been told mainly protein, protein, protein.

    cauliflower crust pizza

How much almond meal did you add? Did you change any other ingredients or amounts?

    cauliflower crust pizza

I just made this and I loved it. I have a question though. The crust seemed to be kind of a mashed potato texture. Is 15 minutes long enough to bake? Should I have made it really thin? Or is that the consistency it's supposed to be?

Yes it's with all the crystal light drinks. It's the Walmart brand. They have all kinds of flavors. This one is like apple juice and to me it doesn't have the crystal light aftertaste. I tried to find a link but can't find it. The packet is for 2 quarts so I use 2 packets in a gallon container. I bought apple, cherry, and strawberry-watermelon. The apple is in a green container.

    5 Confessions (Join In)

Father forgive me for I have sinned. Confessions; 1. I'm not catholic. 2. After staying on the right path and being miserable craving everything I shouldn't eat I ate a 7/11 hot dog and sweet tea from mcds tonight. 3. I'm addicted to the sugar free apple juice powder at Walmart. 4. Even though I've lost a little over 100 pounds in the last 5 months I still don't see it. I still don't have a positive self image. 5. I feel often times like I'm flying at 300 miles an hour and I'm just waiting to crash into a wall. This process has been hard and finding my own way has been quite the challenge. I feel like I need a regimented manual to follow sometimes instead of just basic guidelines of eat more Protein. The rebel in me says what's wrong with treating yourself to a cookie or a couple bites of mashed potatoes? I'm proud of my accomplishments I just wish I had a little more direction.

    August sleever progress

I was sleeved August 27th. As of today I'm down just over 100 pounds. I can feel the difference but I have a bit of a disconnect seeing it. I'm hopeful that's normal. I just assume with that much loss I would see a bigger change in my clothes size. Ore surgery I was size 64 pants now I'm a 58/60 depending on the brand.

    Brownies

I was browsing around for a low carb brownie recipe and found this. I'm not a cook so was wondering if anyone has made this before and could tell me what it's like? Is it just me...

I think that's pretty common for most sleevers. Maybe not the exact same but some sort of a change in the way food tastes. I find a lot of things taste sweeter to me now. Just do what you can to get your protein in and stay hydrated and you're doing ok. The rest kind of falls into place. It's a learning process.
  9. So I'm trying to make good choices. I found these Atkins treats at the store and they claim only 2 net carbs. Can someone please dumb this down for me an explain it? The nutrition facts say 18g carbs. How is the net 2? Is this legit? I remember dreamfields pasta made similar claims but it was disproven. Any advice?

    Question for the experts.

I will write them. I've been craving a basil and mozzarella pizza maybe with a little pesto. It's been months. I've had decent success with my weight loss. Sleeved 8/27/12 lost 100 lbs so far. I'm just at the stage where I'm bored and tired of the same routine.

    Question for the experts.

Yeah I'm interested in the pizza crust and hot dog buns. I just want to be sure the carbs are what they say. I've found a lot of companies stretch the facts or outright lie when it comes to carbs. I'll definitely try it though.

    Question for the experts.

I am super curious yet skeptical about the bread. I really want to believe it but can't find reviews or anything about it.

    August 2012 Sleevers?

I was sleeved August 27th. I'm down about 85 pounds. I'm pretty much losing 1 to 3 pounds a week. Long way to go lol.
  14. I'm going through a lot of things right now and I wanted to reach out to see if I could get some input or some wisdom from people who have been sleeved for a while. I was sleeved on August 27 and since then I have lost 83 pounds. I mentally know this is a solid number and it's something to be proud of. My issue lies in the fact that when I see myself I don't see any physical change really. I'm still wearing the same clothes. Although they are somewhat looser nothing really seems to be any different. I was super excited with the number I had lost but someone took a picture of me this past weekend and I was just shocked. I didn't see a change I just saw the same fat guy I always have so it kinda put me in a slump. Does anyone have any similar experience, advice etc?
  15. Thanks for all the encouragement. I know this is a learning process, and it always will be. I'm just so grateful to have an outlet to reach out for help and have such amazing people supporting me. Thank you all.
  16. Well I do physically feel better. I can walk now. I was amazed at something as small as walking through a store shopping and not being tired or in pain. It was honestly the photo that made me so questionable. I started at 475 give or take and I'm down to 390 ish. Depends on the scale.

Ahhhh Why Am I So Hungry!

Did your surgeon say it was ok to eat that? If so I need a new one because mine wants his patients on a carb strict diet.

    Protein Shakes Help Please

My iPhone totally ruined my last post. I meant to say I tried the protein shots to get in my protein and I don't know how you can stand them. The watermelon and grape were so nasty. Are they possibly any better now

Ahhhh Why Am I So Hungry!

I had really bad head hunger the first two weeks as well. I was begging anyone I knew to bring me something to chew up swearing that I would spit it out instead of eating it. It's kind of funny now but it really wasn't then. I went to a restaurant and ordered French onion soup and ask them to leave out the onions and it actually hit the spot for what I was craving. During the liquid stage everything seems so sweet it's nice to have a break from that.
  22. So My Surgeon isnt a huge fan of milk. He says it has to much sugar. So I was in the grocery store tonight and I saw 2 things. 1. Silk unsweetened almond milk, and silk unsweetened silk... I guess.... no flavor. Great on carbs great on sugar. Has anyone ever had either of these? What do they taste like? I've only ever had milk so i'm wondering if and how similar they might be. Also don't buy hersheys sugar free chocolate syrup. I saw it and almost died I wanted it so bad. I got home added it to some milk and ts disgusting. It is bitter, sour and just plain nasty, Avoid at all costs.

    Overwhelmed!

I second the pill case suggestion. It was .97 cent at wal mart and has been a life saver. I find I also get overwhelmed late at night when I'm alone with my thoughts. Just talk to people and let it out. Im only 2 weeks and 4 days post op so your farther along than me. Allow yourself to celebrate what you have accomplished. We all have our ways of coping, for me I just talk myself down and remind myself I will make it passed this. Cliche quote "this too shall pass". Best of luck.
