After struggling with my weight for years, I thought I had finally found the answer. A local weight loss program that I signed up for seemed to be working well for me. I lost 40 lbs & was feeling great. Then, I had ankle surgery & it all went downhill from there. I was off work for 6 months. Gained all my weight back plus some & then found I couldn't return to my job. From that point on, I struggled & struggled hard. Alot of self-hatred & depression. I was seeing a therapist who dealt with eating disorders. I wasn't gaining anymore but I wasn't losing either. Finally, I started thinking about surgery. I knew people who had it done, some successful, others not. I did alot of research, soul-searching & talking & finally, with the blessings of both my partner & my therapist-I did it!
