Is sushi tolerable at seven weeks Out post up?
-
The DR office told me it is ok to eat it but whats concerning to them is possibility of infection if you eat it too soon after the surgery. You are eating raw and your stomach is still recovering. Well i took that chance and was one of the best meals post op

Just ate and it was delicious. Thank u all

10 days out and I can eat everything. is this normal? please read and give input. thanks

I was put on mushie foods right out of the hospital and was fine. By day 10 i could probably stomach what you ate but would not dare to put those foods in my mouth. One thing you need to know that nerves in our stomach are numb for a while so the signals we are getting might not be very reliable. You might be injuring the stomach without knowing it. U have a 11 month old so there must be some baby food around the house. My doctor is very lenient since he had me on mushie foods right away but solids are out of the question unyil my 4 th week. Any baked goods even longer. Be careful! Good luck -
Had my sleeve done this morning in Long Island with Dr Shawn Garber. Nothing short of an excelent experience with Mercy Medical Center. I am laying in my bed with minima pain, rather just soarness and looking forward to trying my food intake tomorrow. So far so good. Good luck to all pre sleevers.

Hey fellow new yorkers. I was sleeved on January 14. Had my surgery with Dr. Garber in long island. I am down around 46 pounds Including 23 pounds pre-op. The doctor put me on soft mushy foods right after the surgery. I had no problems whatsoever. Gas Pain gone in a couple of days, had no trouble with liquids or protein. Good luck all

I ate a can of tuna!
chubilicious replied to Jenny12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love refried beans and salsa. I add a little low fat cheddar and melt it in the microwave. Very tasty! Humus is my next favorite thing. -
I eat shrimp just blend it fine and add some humus. Finger lickin' good

I am only 4 days out. Starting weight before pre op diet 425lbs. Surgery weight 402 or so. 4 days out (current) weight 397. I am getting all my protein and liquids in and started on pureed foods right from the hospital bed. Gas almost gone. Incisions cause no pain except the main one ( belly button) is still a sore area so have not been taking any pain meds since yesterday. I had 3 tsps of pureed turkey for lunch and 3 tsps of tilapia for dinner and it was equivalent to the best meals i have had.. ( my 3 yr old laughed at me because she is used to me eatinga a whole turkey). I know its still early to brag about any progress but if this post can help anyone out there having second thoughts i will be happy. Good luck all

If your po doet was strict
chubilicious replied to amytug's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was given liquids for my first meal (bfast) in the hospital the day after surgery and if you tolarate you are moved to pured/mushie foods for lunch. I actually had tuna and i was scared too eat it. The nurses were encouraging so i gave it a shot and down it went with no problem. So now at home i was told to try introducing all foods as long as they are protein and pured for up to 3-4 weeks. I skipped the clear liquids. -
Two days post op...
chubilicious replied to Sdonovan78's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
3 days post op here . No major pain issues but gas is still there. I can feel a bubble forming in the lower abdomen and rising to my stomach and then it gets painful. I need to take a big breath in and out to aleviate the pain. I feel like a big air bubble where i just want to somehow deflate myself with a needle . I wish i could at least pass gas but thats been a challenge as well. -

Surgery tomorrow. Dropped 22lbs on my torterous pre op diet. Looking forward to having this done so i can eat with a spoon/fork again and use my teeth eventually. Piggin' out before you start your liquids has again proven to be a bad idea. I knew it but i still did it and it has been really REALLY tough. Have not cheated once though. Bought all my necessities. Ready to do this and get my life back.

I wAs approved by cigna recently. My first submussiin they denied because they needed another doctors opinion as to why this surgery will benefit you and also that i did not present my 3 minth supervised diet. Total BS! So i had my pcp write a letter if recommendation and resubmitted aling with my 3 ointh supervised diet ligs and was approved after 5 days. I am BMI 48 with a couple of comorbidities but they still like to play a little game. Good luck.

New guy here, you've GOT to read this!
chubilicious replied to BigFrank's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
This is so inspirational to a guy with same numbers. I am 6'5'' 427lbs. Going under the knife in 2 weeks and starting my diet today. People with smooth post ops tend not to stick around the forum and we need to hear these type of stories as well. Thank you for sharing Frank and i hope your journey continues as it has so far. -

My surgeon provided with blank forms that they use and said any Dr can do this for me. I did it with my PCP and went in every month for 3 months and he recorded my weight, excersize level and nutrition intake which he took my word for . I actually did not loose any weight during my 3 months. Ask your surgeon for the forms i am sure they have it. Good luck -

I got my denial letter a few days ago from CIgna. Dr's office says it can be corrected so i am keeping my fingers crossed. I am bmi 49 with high BP, hiatal hernia, GERD and joint pains and only 31 and they will still find a way to deny you. They said i never submitted my 3 month supervised diet , which i absolutely did, and they need another recommendation letter from a doctor other than my surgeon. It is just bullshit. Now after i resubmitted all this they are saying they need another week or two to review.
