Men: Telling "the Guys" About Your Surgery
chubilicious replied to OneManWolfpack's topic in The Guys’ Room
Just tell them that you might have to blend your chicken wings, doritos, pizza and beer for some time! Its tough to hide something like that because the weight will be coming off pretty fast. Me personally would try to keep it to myself but a confession might be inevitable. Either way they will know something is off and you are not saying something. I say take a few jabs and 'vagina' references and it will all be forgatten before you know it. When they see you shrinking they will have a new respect for you. Go Giants! -

Does any one have an idea of how long you should wait in between surgeries? I know it all depends on the type of surgery you are having and the anesthesia used. The reason i am asking is because i might need an arthroscopic knee surgery for my meniscus but i dont want to delay my sleeve. Hoping to get sleeved mid december. Wondering if i could do the knee surgery begining of november. Thank you

Blood Pressure!
chubilicious replied to chubilicious's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks rootman...how soon did you notice the difference -
I have Cigna. He does accept insurance. You would have to be a really stubborn dr not to accept insurance especially now that approval rate is on the increase. Also, Mexico Drs will beat US prices by a hefty margin. Just be ready to go through a lot of testing if you go with Garber. His staff seems very nice and he humself was very nice and ready to answer any questions. He claims to be ine of the pioneers in WLS surgery but thats hard to prove so i will take his word for now.

Anyone From Brooklyn Ny?

Queens here! Started my process with dr Garber on long island. Hoping to have it done somwhere in mid december. -
I am from Queens. I was debating between NYU and Garber and decided to go with him. I started my process and he definetely requires a lot before he goes to insurance for approval. I gotta get clearead by every doctor under the sun + Sleep study, sonograms, endoscopy.....etc. that is just their standard procedure. I am kinda releived that they are doing so much testing but then it takes forever. I know of him from tv commercials and internet but would love to hear from some patients

Damn dude u look fantastic ...no homo. Since i am a big eater like you how much would make full once u started on solids? One thing i cant get my thru my head is prople saying that they get satisfied on 1/2 a cup of food. I just cant accept that. Is it really true? I think my one bite is 1/2 cup rite now. Lol. Amazing result! -
Hey forum! I am new to WLS process and when i first started researching i was adamant on having the lapband put in and nothing else was an option. The more research i did and after the seminar i realized rhat i eould rather go with a sleeve. I am 6'5'' amd 405. Big Boy! From Queens, NY and thinking about having the surgery at NYU. My insurance is CIGNA and i only have to do 3 months of supervised diet which is good comparing to other ins. Companies. I have switched from LapBand Talk to this forum and have been reading a lot of posts ans it seems to me that sleevers have it easier than bandsters. I am really turned off by waiting to find the right fill and finding the "green zone" with the band i really want results fast. Also the follow up with the band seem bothersome so i am now 75% leaning towards a sleeve. I would appreciate some words of encourangement and some suggestions on why this and not that. What was your deciding factor? Anyone else had theirs dine at NYU? Thank you in advance.
